Another nice Ford promotional photo of the 2016 Cobra Jet Mustang. The 2016 Cobra Jet is built on the newly designed 2016 Mustang V6 body with new flared fenders, parachute, and Hoosier tires. Inside the interior is stripped down to the minimum and safety harnesses and roll cage added. Under the hood is an estimated 707hp Whipple supercharged customized Ford 5.0L V8.

This is a Ford promotional photo of the 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet race car. 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of the Mustang Cobra Jet and to commemorate this event, 68 of these special racers are available in either Race Red or Oxford White with a special version of the 5.2L Coyote V8 with a 3.0L Whipple supercharger, 9-inch solid rear axle, two-way coil-over shocks with adjustable ride height, low-drag Strange Engineering brake system, four-link rear suspension with antiroll and pan bars, NHRA-certified safety roll cage, FIA-certified seats, anniversary-badged racing wheels, and optional 50th anniversary graphics and badges.

The 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet is a turnkey race car and the engine is expected to put out at least 700 horsepower, maybe over 1000. Under the hood is a 5.2L version of Ford's Coyote V8 with a 3.0L fifth-generation Whipple supercharger. It also has a three-speed racing transmission. The car is not street-legal, and it has a $130,000 suggested base price.
