This is a Ford promotional preview photo of the 2011 Mustang Boss 302R. The "R" stands for racing, since the car is not street legal. The 302R is limited to 50 units and is considered a Ford racing option available for $79K. Some of the features include the 2011 Mustang 302ci GT engine rated at 412hp, a seam-welded body, roll cage, safety harness, data acquisition system, race suspension, special tires, and side stripes. It was designed to honor the 40th anniversary of Parnelli Jones' 1970 Trans-Am championship (the GM, Pontiac, Trans Am was named after this racing series with much controversy at the time).

Check this one out! It's a Performance White 2012 Mustang Boss 302R factory race car. This is not a street legal car - it was built for one thing - racing. 50 of these where built for the Continental Tire Challenge races. The base Boss 302R is equipped with a 5.0-liter, four-valve, V8 engine, a six-speed manual transmission, racing dampers and springs, a Brembo brake package, plus a roll cage, racing seat, safety harness, and data acquisition system. Another version has even higher performance, homologated for the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series, featuring a sealed, high-output engine with an upgraded cooling system, a close-ratio six-speed transmission with integral shifter, a high-speed-balanced, one-piece driveshaft, and a seam-welded body.
