(from page 17 of the 1969 Collection) Calypso Coral Boss 302 Mustang fastback with a black interior. This is #1012 out of 1628 units produced in 1969. Calypso Coral paint is a deep shade of orange. The "302" stands for the 302 cubic inch V8 engine under the hood. This was one of eight V8 engine offered on the 1969 Mustang.

(from page 17 of the 1969 Collection) The only way you could get the 302ci V8 engine in a Mustang, was to purchase a Boss 302. This engine put out 290 horse power. This motor is a Boss 302 C8FE Trans Am racing block, with a .020 overbore, Viniola forged pistons, ARP rod bolts, Melling H/V oil pump, Mildon water pump, C9ZE heads ported with Manley severe duty valves, Ford motorsports springs, 1.6 Ford SVO roller rockers, C9Z factory aluminum intake, a D0ZE Boss crank turned .010/.010, and a with a 70 Boss balancer.

(from page 17 of the 1969 Collection) Here is a shot of the rear seat. They called the fastback a 2+2 because you could put two people in the front seats and two in the back. The rear seat looks tight an uncomfortable.

It has the 302ci 4v V8 engine, 3.91 traction-lok rear axle, and 4-speed close ratio manual transmission. The owner says that it has a great AM radio but of course you can't hear it above the engine roar! it's also in the Boss 302 registry and a blast to drive.

(from page 5 of the 1970 Collection) Calypso Coral 1970 Mustang Boss 302 with a 290hp (at 5800rpm), 302 cubic inch, V8 only available in 1970 for the Boss. This car has been faithfully restored to its original specifications. The new paint is Calypso Coral PPG Deltron Acrylic Urethane; and the hood stripes, rear deck, and taillight panel are properly painted with PPG DDL-9381 textured black-out paint. Sometimes in photographs the black Boss stripes are so reflective, they come out white; but these stripes were originally and still are black highly reflective stripes. This car also has Magnum 500 chrome wheels option ($129 originally).
