(1 photo of a 1989 Oxford White Mustang GT Fastback) Oxford White 1989 Mustang GT fastback owned by Josh Colby from Manchester, New Hampshire. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting June 30, 2013. Josh tells us more, "I obtained this beautiful Mustang last year around September. I have currently invested a good amount on preventative maintenance and other needed areas. If I had a choice and I really don't, I would not sell it. The previous owner 'said' that the motor and trans were rebuilt. How rebuilt, I do not know but she idl's flawlessly and doesn't have any issues shifting. The chassis has 184k miles on it and has a bit of rust under door areas and under the trunk and that is it. NO rust No rot! The motor was rebuilt about 15-25k miles ago. The car is not a show car but is very clean looking and has minimal daily driving looks. She is parked every winter and is maintained. The only reason I am selling or TRADING is for a 4X4 pick up, extended cab 5.0L+. So I can have a yearly driver that I can use. Sad to say the truck I was using has been.... taken away. So I am kind of in need something. The car starts daily in all weather types and even when she is parked and hasn't started for 3 days in 20 degree weather. It has been very reliable. If you have any questions please feel free to email at the email address listed. Remember, she is not a show car. I am either looking for a truck in decent to equal condition trade or a local cash sale. FUN STUFF: Mach 1 style vented hood, Typhoon intake manifold 'upper & lower', new detent cable for transmission, tranny flush, power steering flush, BBK CAI, BBK shorty headers, under drive pulleys, smog delete, aftermarket catless pipe to a custom side pipe exhaust, rebuilt transmission, rebuilt motor 'no receipt, PO says so, gaskets look new and it purs just fine', Cobra tail lights, Performance automatic street/strip shift kit, front caster/camber, upper strut plates, KYB Shocks, battery power master, 140W alternator with smaller pulley, chassis stiffening bars, rear pan hard bars, new ball joint, new 190 degree Thermostat, distributor cap, 8mm wires, PVC, new heater core, Yukon Dura grip posi with 31 spline axle set up, side mounted oil pressure gauge and water temp gauge with fuel gauge 'fuel not hooked up', and a bunch of little things all around. NEEDS: rear main seal if you don't want a small oil leak, windshield cracked $195, fuel gauge connected whining 8.8"

(1 photo of a 1990 Dark Titanium Gray Mustang GT Convertible) Deep Titanium Metallic 1990 Mustang GT convertible owned by Kelly and Howard Johansen from West Jordan, Utah. It has a 5.0L V8 engine and an automatic transmission. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting June 5, 2011. Kelly tells us more,

"It all started with something as simple as ice cream!

My husband, Howard, and I were up visiting our friends Mike and Jolene one Saturday evening when we all decided to have some ice cream for dessert. So, a quick trip to Baskin-Robbins was in order. Mike and Jolene had just recently purchased their daughter a 1996 Mustang convertible for being a straight A student. We were elected to go pick-up the ice cream so Mike tossed us the keys to the mustang and said here take this! Howard said I could drive and off we went.

It didn't take too long for that Mustang Convertible to put a spell on me and by the time we arrived at Baskin-Robbins I informed my husband he could buy me my own Mustang - just as long as it was a convertible! Unbeknownst to me, Howard started looking for a convertible for me. On Saturday, June 28, 2003, my husband took me to look at a Mustang convertible. The guy opened his garage door and backed the car out of the garage. I was standing on the side of the driveway and almost jumped out of my skin, my eyes bulging out and said out loud: 'I want that Mustang!' Little did I know how those four little words could affect my husband's purchase negotiation! (He wouldn't budge a penny) We took it for a test drive and it was so much fun, I forgot about the time and this little Pony made me late for work!

I swear I only asked Howard once or twice if he planned on buying me the car - Howard told me I asked about a hundred times over the next three days! On Wednesday evening Howard was off to his monthly computer meeting and then to dinner with his friends afterward. Little did I know he skipped the meeting and set out to negotiate the purchase of the Mustang. After he finalized the deal Howard called me and asked me to join them for dinner. All his friends knew what he was up to and we were all waiting in the restaurant for my husband to arrive when I spied him pulling into the parking lot in my car! I squealed: He bought me my car!

Howard casually walked into the restaurant, dropped the keys in my hand, gave me a sweet kiss, and said 'here's the keys to your Mustang' During the evening Howard wondered out loud if this would get him lucky - I told him we could pull the new car in the garage when we got home and I would show him lucky!

My Mustang immediately went on the show circuit along with my husband's Mach 1 Mustang. The first show we attended together was the Cache Valley Cruise-In the following Saturday. The morning of the show, Howard tossed me a towel and a bottle of wax and said 'It's your car - you can wax it!' For once I didn't mind cleaning a Mustang before a car show!

It is great to own my own Mustang! Since we bought it, it has received new tires and wheels, a Cervini Mach 1 hood, a Cervini Saleen rear spoiler, new leather interior, new convertible top, a Dr. Gas exhaust system, 3:73 gears, LX taillights and quite a few other goodies as well. The purple pin striping really lets people know whose car this is! My car has taken on a transformation to my personality and what I really wanted in a Mustang!"

Pony rims with Mickey Thompson DRs [ rear ] and Dunlop ZR rated [ front ]. 500rwhp/480rwtq with a very mild dyno tune, longevity a priority. 11.6et/124mph. I've added sub frame connectors and a strut brace as well. The engine is stock other than a cold air and an aftermarket intake. We autocross and road race it on a regular bases. The paint is from the 1969 Trans Am Mustang driven by Parnelli Jones & George Follmer. Mine is dedicated to George - just cause Parnelli gets all the praise but it takes a team to win."
