Black 1975 Mustang II Special Paint Edition hatchback with a two-tone paint or wide side stripe, body side moldings, sport wheels, bumper guards, color matched mirrors, and just visible wood grained dash trim. The 1975 Special Paint Edition Mustang II was a midyear offering which may have lead to the Stallion option in 1976 which included many of the same options but Stallion decals; and the Tu-Tone option which added a black hood and roof.

Black 1976 Mustang Cobra II hatchback with hood scoop, over the top silver stripes, fog lamps, front air dam, cobra side graphics, rear quarter window louvers, rear wing, sport alloy wheels, and 302ci (5L) V8 engine. This car has been repainted gun metal gray with silver stripes. 1976 available Cobra colors were white with blue stripe, blue with white stripes, and black with gold stripes. The Cobras also came with a Cobra emblem centered on the grille.

Black 1976 Mustang II Mach1 fastback with Black Midnight or Shadow options package and aftermarket wheels. This is the All-Black Sports Group option which includes: black exterior, black or bright red interior, brushed aluminum instrument panel applique, black grille/window molding/windshield wiper arms, competition suspension, Traction-Lok differential axle, and extra cooling package. With 39K miles on this car it is all original (even the paint) except for the wheels and steering wheel cover.

Here is another photo of the all Black 1976 Mustang II Mach 1 as found in the 1976 Ford Mustang promotional catalog. This is an interesting photo. It is aimed at the auto repair/builder. You got the guys (with long hair) off to the right building some sort of race car. I would assume they are using a Mustang II hatchback. They have a roll cage installed. Then behind them is some guys working on a 30s Ford with white wall tires. And you have a couple to the far left working on their new 1976 Mach-1. Not sure what he's doing - I see a wrench on the ground.

The 1976 Mustang MPG models are any Mustang II equipped with the 2.3 liter engine and standard 3.18:1 rear axle ratio. This resulted in 34 mpg highway and 24 mpg city for the manual transmission; and 31 mpg highway, 22 mpg city for the automatic transmission. Black 1977 Mustang II with Cobra II package, owned by Mike Baker, from Elgin, Illinois. He just purchased it off eBay! It has a 302ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Like in 1976, the 1977 Cobra came in white with blue stripes, blue with white stripes, or black with gold stripes. New in 1977 the Cobra could come with white with red stripes and white with green stripes. This is an early 1977 Cobra where the lettering is low on the door, later in the year they were higher up. Cobras came with vertical-style quarter-window louvers, rear-window horizontal louvers, sport mirrors, facing hood scoop and rear spoiler.
