Playboy Pink 1964 Mustang convertible owned by Mike Johnson from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mike tells us more, "Found solid, no rust, 1964 1/2 convertible to totally rebuild/restore/upgrade for my daughter. It is built to her specs, colors, equipment, etc. It was completely disassembled, cleaned, painted, and reassembled with all new everything. It has power rack and pinion, power disc brakes, larger radiator, all new Pony interior, '66 5-gauge cluster with some GT equipment, 15" wheels, tilt steering wheel, new stereo, etc. The original 260 V8 and 2 bbl. (new Holley type) and original tranny and rear end were retained and rebuilt. The color is the '67 Playboy Pink Ditzler code. She is now ready to drive
it."

Poppy Red 1964 Mustang convertible owned by Gene Walinski from Simi Valley, California. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting June 26, 2016. It was originally Poppy Red and still has it's original 260ci engine. Gene had this story to share, "I bought this Mustang in 1978 for $400 with around 38000 miles on it. She had an 'Earl Sheib' $19.95 chalky red paint job with spray painted stripes along the hood and body-side contours and a street car bell mounted under the car below the driver's seat. It had been outdoors for years. With my sister and I both taking classes on body, paint and upholstery, as well as my father having a repair shop, we managed to paint it back to its original color, sew new upholstery, and replace the top in about two years. It was beautiful and remained completely stock for the next 35 years except for a four row radiator, front disc brakes and a set of '68 GT500KR wheels. Eventually, in 1998, it got a new paint job (free) from a body shop I had been referring work to, got some new tires and the wheels polished (also for free) from a local tire and wheel shop where we had wheel and tire
packages installed on new Mercedes and Volvos from the dealership where I
worked. A couple of years ago, I decided to make a 'tribute' car or 'tribute' to Carol Shelby at which time, my wife deemed it the Wanna-be, resulting in the GT 1AB stripe and license plate. (won-a-b). I added stripes, tribar headlamps, engine dress up kit and a 'euro Brace' and Monte Carlo bar under the hood. It's never been wrecked, lives in then garage and hasn't been washed in two years or so. I think it's one of the best looking color combinations ever made and people everywhere I go say so too. Still
has the original 260 V8 2bbl and the generator and will be going strong for many years to come!"

Silver Smoke Gray 1965 Mustang convertible owned by Rob Eckenrode from Mt. Wolf, Pennsylvania. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week photo for the week starting November 1, 2009. Rob shares, "This vehicle was ordered by my wife's grandmother specifically to match the school color where they lived. It has the original dealer installed factory AC. It has recently been restored to original condition and won best of show in its first show this month. I have yet to find another 65 with this color combination and was told it is rare, but since Marty reports don's go back to 65 I do not know how many were made."

Ivy Green 1965 Mustang GT convertible owned by Steve from Colchester, Vermont. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting February 22, 2015. This GT has its original 289ci 4V V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Steve tells us more, "I bought the car in December 2013 from a muscle car dealer in Illinois. The car had been consigned from an owner in California. Many records came with the car which was produced originally in San Jose. The records show two long term owners in Northern California (San Jose area) but I haven't yet been able to trace owners from the 60s and 70s. The car was in need of some restoration and so far I have installed new convertible top, new carpet, new electrical harnesses in engine bay and under dash. The seats only required some cleanup, but I did replace the foam. The car came with Magnums which were wrong for 1965 so I replaced those with 14-inch styled steel wheels and new dual red line radial tires from Coker. The paint was great - only required some polishing and waxing. The undercarriage was restored before I bought the car and is very clean. The Mustang is a true GT and drives great! The top is even powered. It's a keeper."

Poppy Red 1965 Mustang convertible owned by Josephine De Bono from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It has a 289 V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Josephine adds, "I bought 'Ruby' early this year from Redding in Northern California. Saw her on the Shasta Mustang Facebook page advertised for sale and fell in love straight away. Currently undergoing a full restoration."

Red 1965 Mustang convertible owned by Bill Apostolidis from Australia. It has the 289ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Bill tells us, "I found the pony in a corner of the local panel beaters collecting dust. A Mustang convertible is the car I have always wanted and it was in great condition and all in its original state. I tried to keep as much of the car as possible during the restore. It now looks the same (other than colour) as it would have when it first came out of the show room. Drives like a dream."

Springtime Yellow 1965 Mustang convertible owned by Rick Scott from Clinton, Connecticut. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting October 28, 2019. This Mustang has the in-line 6 engine and an automatic transmission. Rick tells us more, "My Mustang was purchased in 2016 from the daughter of the original owner. The original owner purchased her on July 6, 1965 from a Ford dealership in Amsterdam, NY (Parsons Inc. of Amsterdam). It remained the family car for many years. After all four daughters grew up and moved out of the house, Robert Snyder (original owner) kept her on the road and would drive her from time to time. After Mr. Snyder passed away in March 2015, his youngest daughter decided to pass the car along to someone else. Now, I am just the second owner to enjoy this amazing Mustang. She came to me all original. The engine was over hauled but all original. I replaced the interior, carpeting and convertible top. What is on her is exactly how she was purchased - several production options and dealership options. She also has her original AM radio... and it still works."

"Aunt Myrna, if you ever want to sell your Mustang, let us know." This is what Allan and Nancy Eisentraut told their aunt Myrna of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. Myrna bought the car new in 1966, drove it for years, then stored it in her garage for 16 years, untouched. Finally, one day in 1986, Allan and Nancy, got a call from Myrna. She wanted to sell them the car. Allan went there with his mechanic son. They pulled the Mustang out of the garage with the tires sliding on the ground. They were froze up with rust. After pounding the rust off the wheels to get them to turn; then taking the spark plugs out, pouring oil into the spark plug holes; and pouring gas into the carburetor, the Mustang started up - surprisingly, even with the old battery. It was quite rusty and a body man told them not to wait too long to have it taken car of. Within a year, the car had been repainted. Everything is still original on the car, right down to the plaid carpet in the trunk. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week picture for 8-26-07.

Vintage Burgundy 1966 Mustang GT convertible owned by Mark Wieszyk from Adelaide, South Australia. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting July 24, 2011. It has it's original 289ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Mark tells us more, "I purchased this Mustang convertible GT in 2009. It was imported into Australia from North Carolina in 2006 by the person I purchased it from. The car has been restored to a very high level. It is an A code 4V motor with air conditioning, power steering, front disc brakes, power roof and rally pack. It is a beautiful car to drive and the color combination between the exterior and interior catches a lot of attention. The car won a sponsors award at the 2010 Australian Mustang Nationals in Adelaide and has been featured in Australian Mustang and Ford magazine."

Wimbledon White 1966 T-5 GT convertible owned by Chris Wold from Edgerton, Wisconsin. This is an original color convertible with the 289ci K-code Hi-Po engine with a manual transmission. Chris adds, "This car was handed to me by a previous owner who didn't have time for it. I have been showing this car at shows because of its rarity. It's was sold thru through the military PX system, shipped from the US to Europe, and sent back when a soldier was done with there tour of duty. It's been with me for a year and a half and has won best of show, best of class, and also a Facebook page.

Wimbledon White 1966 Mustang Sprint 200 convertible owned by Alex Elliott from Walnut Creek, California. It has the 200ci 6-cylinder engine and a manual transmission. Alex adds, "This is a very original Mustang Sprint 200 convertible. I found this car on a recent vacation in Tahoe. It was advertised locally by the owner of 30 years. It was in dry storage for several years. He kept the vehicle maintained - I have receipts for over $15,000 spent. I drove the car back from Tahoe after flushing out coolant fluids etc, and it drove flawlessly the 200 mile trip back to the East Bay. The pony interior could do with new covers. Still very presentable."

Check out Mary Ann Pomanti and her Playboy Pink 1967 Mustang convertible. It has its original 200ci 6-cylinder engine and a manual transmission. Her husband, Al, tells us more, "Bought it from a friend for my wife and did a complete resto. The only original parts are the hood. Painted Playboy Pink because when I met my wife she had been in a hair style competition and had Pink hair, and she wanted something other than red. Runs good. She has ball driving it and gets lots of looks. We are a Ford family - my son has a 69 Mach 1, 428 4-speed 2 4-bbls. I have 50 Ford lead sled."

Sauterne Gold 1967 Mustang convertible owned by Denis Lépine from Montréal, Québec, Canada, Besides wearing its factory color, this Mustang has its original inline 6-cylinder 200ci 120hp engine. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting April 10, 2011. Denis tells us more, "I bought the car in 1995. It was a rusted basket like all eastern Canada cars (dso B2). I took the time to restore it myself. Originally it was a 5 option car; power top, power steering, console, AM radio, and deluxe seatbelts. I add the following options; power brakes, tilt away, convenience control panel, headrest, exterior decor group, luggage rack, clock, AM/FM radio, right mirror, vanity mirror, hood/trunk/glove box and ashtray lights, open light reminder, remote trunk, chrome sill plate extensions, wire style hubcaps, wheel opening moldings, and I add fogs lights because I like the look."

Red 1967 Mustang Convertible owned by Stuart Brooks from Sun City West, Arizona. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting March 30, 2014. Stuart tells us, "I bought it four years ago in Gilbert, Arizona. It has been a work in progress and now 100% restored. It has power steering/brakes, electronic ignition, under dash R-134 A/C, and original 200 cubic inch 6 cylinder with automatic transmission. Not a Daily driver. Taken to car shows and cruises only."

This is the first Shelby GT-350 built in 1968. It's also a Sunlit Gold Hertz car. The owner is Randy Cantrell from North Carolina. Randy tells us more, "This car has been in my family since 1970. It was my brother's car. He was killed in 1972. His wife had a hard time driving a straight drive. I had just turned 16 and gotten my 1st car - a 1965 2+2 fastback 289 auto. My brother's wife asked me if I would trade my car for the Shelby. I didn't hesitate and I've had it ever since. I had no ideal it was the 1st 68 GT-350 convertible made until Peter Disher from www.thecoralsnake.com did the an article on the car. Needless to say it's a special car to me." Peter Disher discovered that Shelby's first four conversions on 1968 Mustangs where Hertz show cars - a GT350 convertible, GT350 fastback, GT500 convertible, and a GT500 fastback. Each was painted Sunlit Gold. And THIS is the GT350 Hertz convertible.

This is a Flower Power Red 1968 Rainbow Of Colors Mustang convertible. It is owned by Don Croft. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 30, 2011. The Rainbow Of Colors promotion ran on the west coast on 1968 and 1969 Mustangs. They featured special paint offerings in all colors of the rainbow. This one was sold new at Highland Park Motors Inc. in Los Angeles, California. Don tells us, "I bought it back in 2004, and was told by the previous owner it was 'Grabber Orange'. I knew at the time this wasn't correct as Grabber Orange was a '69 color, and bit lighter than the shade of my Mustang. I had wondered since about the correct color, until last year when I stumbled onto your website, which encouraged me to run the Marty Report..." Besides the special order paint, the Marty Report listed the following options: 289-2V Engine, Parchment Power Top w/ Glass Backlite, C-4 Cruise-O-Matic Transmission,
F70X14 Wide Oval Tires, White Sidewall Nylon Tires, Air Conditioner - Selectaire, AM/8-Track Stereo Radio, and Tinted Glass

Tahoe Turquoise 1968 Mustang convertible owned by Tim Donaher. It has its original 200ci engine and an automatic transmission. Tim says, "I bought it September of 2011. Did a complete restoration and finished September 2012. Kept the original exterior color. Changed interior from black to aqua and white. Also added wood trim, deluxe TMI sports seats with heat, blue LED gauge lights, rear LED sequential lights, and front disk brakes."

Wimbledon White 1969 Mustang convertible owned by Craig Collins from Cape Coral, Florida. It has its original 351ci 2v engine and automatic transmission. Craig adds, "I purchased from owner in West Palm Beach, Florida. It was built in San Jose, California and lived in California most of its life before being restored. It is corrosion free and totally stock. The only thing it needed was new top and rear window, replaced with Electron brand top this past February. It is a great fit. The factory R12 AC works great. It has a FMX auto transmission and 3.00 rear end."

Medium Lime Metallic 1970 Mustang convertible owned by D Cooper Colbert from Pennsylvania. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting September 5, 2010. The owner tells us more, "It was just restored. I am the original owner. There is still some to go but I am real happy with the results so far! In 1978, I changed the green color to Grabber Orange, took off the road in 1988, and 07/2009 started the restoration putting the color back to original."

Red 1970 Mustang convertible owned by Werner from Germany. It has a 302ci V8 and an automatic transmission. Werner tells us, "I am the owner since 2005. The previous owner had the car 15 years in a dry garage and did not use it. The condition was really bad. I have renewed the interior, blasted underfloor, all lines and pipes, gas tank, overhauled engine, and done all the little repairs. Just recently I put some new parts on it. Now with new electronic ignition, Ford Racing spark plug wires, Monte Carlo bar, master cylinder, radiator expansion tank, grille below the front bumper, and two new Borla Pro XS Mufflers."
