Here is a close-up of a Phil Long Ford advertisement for the 1968 Denver area High Country Special Mustang hardtop. It says that the High Country Special has special equipment exclusive in the Rocky Mountain west which includes racing hood latches, spoiler rear end, side air scoops, special racing stripe, and "High Country" special '68 emblem. We found this ad in the July 18th, 1968, edition of the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph newspaper in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This is an ultra-rare Candyapple Red 1968 Mustang GT High Country Special hardtop. This model was similar to the GT California Special, but it was offered in Colorado. This one has a red interior and a black vinyl top.

This Meadowlark Yellow 1968 High Country Special Mustang hardtop was at the 2010 Mustang Club of America Grand Nationals held in Bellevue, Washington. Over 1000 Mustangs showed up over the two day event hosted by the Northwest Mustang Club. There is a high country special badge on the side scoop.
