Black 1989 Saleen Mustang hatchback with gray rocker stripes and a gray interior. This is a factory Saleen, ID number 78. This one has the stock Mustang 225hp 5.0L V8 engine. The 1989 Saleen came in four base colors; black, Scarlet Red, Dark Shadow Blue, and Oxford White. Other 1989 Mustang colors were available, but at extra cost.

It says "Saleen" on the windshield, "Ford" on the grille, and "Mustang" on the bumper. Yes, this is a Ford Mustang Saleen.

This is an Oxford White 1989 Mustang Saleen SSC hatchback. Only 161 where built. They were all white with white and gray interiors. They had higher output engines than the regular Saleens produced in 1989. You can just make out the "Saleen SSC" decal on the door above the vinyl body side molding at the bottom of the gray diagonal stripe.

Scarlet Red 1989 Saleen Racecraft Mustang hatchback with Saleen aerodynamic body panels, Saleen gold accent wheels, gold lower body stripe, Saleen rear spoiler, Saleen window graphics, and an upgraded 5.0L V8 engine. This car was at the 2010 Mustang Roundup car show held in Bellevue, Washington.

Red 1989 Saleen Mustang hatchback at the 2011 Mustang Roundup held in Bellevue, Washington. There were three reds offered by Ford on the Mustang in 1989, we think this is the darkest of the three called Cabernet Red.
