(from page 18 of the 1969 Collection) Red 1969 Mustang convertible owned by Marisela Funes from Los Angeles, California. It has it's original 289ci V8 engine and automatic transmission. Marisela tells us, "My husband inherited this vehicle last year from the Steve Kaufman estate. My husband is painter and worked for the late Steve Kaufman (former assistant to Andy Warhol). He was also his named assistant and protege. My husband and I have been separated for a while, but gave me his convertible. It has its original engine and transmission. They are in working condition, but needs a new carburetor. The Steve Kaufman Estate has appraised it at $10,000. I have the receipts and administrator appraisal notes. This was Steve's personal car from when he was a young man in the Bronx, New York. It has been in his name for many decades. I think it has had three previous owners in total including me. The Pink slip says 68' but VIN starts with 9. DMV error. "

(from page 18 of the 1969 Collection) This Mustang has a strange rear end treatment. The ducktail spoiler is taller and more pointed in the corners than the 1969 fastback and more than the 1969 Shelby.

(from page 18 of the 1969 Collection) Wimbledon White 1969 Mustang convertible owned by Craig Collins from Cape Coral, Florida. It has its original 351ci 2v engine and automatic transmission. Craig adds, "I purchased from owner in West Palm Beach, Florida. It was built in San Jose, California and lived in California most of its life before being restored. It is corrosion free and totally stock. The only thing it needed was new top and rear window, replaced with Electron brand top this past February. It is a great fit. The factory R12 AC works great. It has a FMX auto transmission and 3.00 rear end."

The hood of this car is painted correctly for a 1969 Shelby Mustang. In 1970, all hoods had black stripes independent of the side stripe color. All 1970 Mustang Shelbys where 1969 carry over models when Shelby decided to stop modifying Mustangs in 1969.
