(7 photos of a 1966 Orange And White Mustang Fastback) Check out this 1966 Mustang fastback owned by Tony and Tammy Seader from La Salle, Colorado. It's painted Sunset Orange (top) over Pearl White (bottom). Tony tells us more,
"We purchased the car about six years ago from a local car lot here in our small town. The car had been for sale for some time and seemed to have made it's way through five owners in about one year. Apparently the car had issues with the charging system. We were looking for a mate for our 66 coupe so we decided to buy it and work through the problems. After some trial and error we discovered that it had the wrong wiring harness. Once we replaced it with the correct harness and new voltage regulator the issue was solved. When we took possession of the car it had horrible faded red paint with black interior. We drove it that way for three years replacing only the wheels and tires, shocks, spring, and coils. Once we decided we couldn't stand that faded out red paint anymore the restoration was on! We stripped the car in the garage then took it to get it sandblasted. Once we decided the paint colors and scheme we took it to the body shop where we decided on many modifications. These mods included shaving the drip rails, cowl, and rear vents. We added the front racing apron and deck lid. Both the front and rear windows are glued in and window trim is delete. The air cleaner is custom made from a GT350 hood scoop and bolts onto the carb to make a real shaker hood. Dual tip side exhaust was added and American Racing torque thrust II rims."
(10 photos of a 1966 Wimbledon White Mustang Sprint Hardtop) Wimbledon White 1966 Mustang with a Sprint Package 200 A, 120 hp (at 4400 rpm), 200 cubic inch, inline 6 cylinder engine. Due to the popular demand of the 289 cubic inch V8, 1966 Ford introduced the "Sprint Package 200" followed by what we think might have been an "A" for automatic transmission and "B" for manual. Ford was not very proud of this solution to the engine shortage so the Sprint Package threw in several standard option upgrades for free (center console, courtesy lights, side accent paint stripe color matched with the car's interior, and the deluxe wire-style wheel covers) and advertised the package as a "Limited Edition". The engine on all models came with decal that read "Mustang Powered Sprint 200" on the chrome air cleaner. Most books have the "A" Sprint option listed as Manual transmission and "B" as Automatic. This car is an "A" model according to the invoice and appears to have an automatic transmission although the data tag is hard to verify. We also have a
1968 Sprint with the same situation but the invoice clearly states Sprint "A" and automatic transmission.

A transparent (candy) red paint is applied over a silver basecoat. Notice how far the hood opens. This one has a set of special hinges which allows the hood to open farther than with stock hinges. The engine is a 302ci V8. Dana adds,
"We had looked for about six months for a car when I found this one online for sale in Nashville, Tennessee . It was being used for 1/4 mile track racing. I think that is what saved the car as it never saw the road or bad weather. It has all original sheet metal and floor pans. We spent two years restoring and updating all the mechanicals and paint. Now we just enjoy showing and driving it."

"I bought this car from a collector in September 2009. Overall already in great shape! I have been modifying the engine - replaced valve covers and air cleaner to chrome, replaced distributor cap to a clear blue cap, replaced spark plug wires to a hi performance blue, replaced the spark plugs at the same time, placed some stickers in engine and trunk to original, replaced radiator cap with a blue cap, placed a blue cap over vacuum line off distributor, replaced solenoid and battery. Future replacements: radiator, alternator, water pump, balancer, change intake manifold to headers, starter, carburetor, rims and tires from 14 to 15-inch, radio and antenna, carpet, seats, and oil pan. Just to name a few."

Attitude Of The Week for the week of May 9th, 2010. Most of this car is original including its amazing Springtime Yellow exterior paint. The few items replaced are seat covers, carpet, driver side door panel, trunk mat, and radiator.

Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 2nd, 2011. The owner comments,
"It had been sitting for 4+ years on four flats with an unmolested deluxe interior and exterior. It had a 450 HP dual carbed 302 with a Tremec 6-speed and Total Control Products (TCP) for coil-overs. I got it home, changed all fluids, and added a set of Vari-Shock dual adjustable shocks. A new battery was needed, so a Gel cell red top was added. It was already relocated to the trunk. After a few cranks it fired right up. I ran it down to the muffler shop and purchased 2-1/4-inch pipe with Flow Masters. I drove vehicle for three years until a complete (down to frame) restoration was done. The tear down revealed a dead mice nest in headliner and others in the rear wheel wells. I thought there was an odd smell. The color is Sauterne and is as close as one can get, with modern paints, to the original with the Wimbledon White stripes. The wheels are original style and size. Two sets were purchased and used to make one set that is wider and offset. The semi-slick Toyo R888 are perfectly sized at 235/50/15 in the rear and 205/50/15 up front. All four corners have disk brakes, SSBC up front and the large stock ones that came on the 9-inch Lincoln Versi rear end. The differential is a built with 3.80 gears, connected using an aluminum drive shaft. The steering is done with Flaming River components and a sub-frame kit welded underneath. This car is solid, and has been done very very well."

Original exterior, its missing its front hub caps but still a beautiful car. It was ordered with front disc brakes (non-power), a C4 three-speed automatic transmission, a driver's side remote adjustable mirror, emergency blinkers (switch in glovebox), and the "A" code engine package.
(7 photos of a 1966 Anniversary Gold Mustang Anniversary Hardtop) Super rare 1,000,000th Anniversary Edition 1966 Mustang hardtop owned by Paul Axiaq from Millbrae, California. It still has it's original 289ci V8 engine. Paul tells us more,
"You've heard about the 1966 Gold Edition Millionth Anniversary Mustangs that were built to commemorate the one-millionth-sales success in 1966. Well they only made about 50 of them so maybe not. They made about 50 of these and there are only 5 known to exist today!
In 1966, about 50 special ordered Anniversary Gold Mustangs were built as part of the Millionth Mustang Anniversary, special order number 1111 and sent to dealerships across the nation. Of the few that have been found, the common features include that they are all hardtops and have C-code 289ci 2-barrel V8 engine, pony interior, steel styled wheels, and special Anniversary Gold paint. There was no paint code for this particular vehicle and they were all made on March 29, 1966.
This car was in two magazines: The June 2009 issue of Cars & Parts, and the July 2009 issue of Mustang Monthly. The original owner says this car was the first unit produced, and that it had been on promotional display as Metke Ford in Bellevue Washington. 'Treasure Chest' keys were mailed to area residents - inside the dealership's chest were keys to the Gold Mustang. The owner's father-in-law stopped by the Ford place while his wife went shopping for a dress: the car was his. The whole story was told in the Seattle Times and Seattle Post Intelligencer. It has been in storage since 1985 by the original owner.
I purchased the car in June of 2009. The car is now stored in my garage where it has been since I purchased it. I have a copy of the original owner's title in Washington. It has a documented 53,987 original miles."
