Attitude Of The Week for the week starting 5-24-09. Manville tells us more,
"It is very original and highly optioned. The paint is original and the body/frame is straight and rust-free. The car was originally a Ford company car ('Transportation Services' DSO) and it still has the Ford Employee parking decal on the rear window. Original items include the C-code 289 V8, C4 automatic transmission, power steering, front disc brakes (rare on a non-GT), 2-speed wipers, luggage rack, 'Visibility Group' (remote controlled door mirror, day/night mirror), power convertible top, styled steel wheels, Ivy Gold and White Pony interior (all original) with console, AM Radio (works perfectly), wheel arch moldings, and rocker panel moldings. Non-original items are the air conditioning and the dual exhaust."
(7 photos of a 1966 Wimbledon White Mustang Shelby GT-350 Fastback) This is a real Wimbledon White 1966 Shelby GT-350 fastback. It is a "carry-over" car. The first 252 Shelby GT-350s for 1966 had 1965 Mustang bodies and 1965 Mustang serial number plates under their Shelby serial number plates. These "carry-over" cars had mostly 1965 features including standard Koni shocks and their engines where painted black instead of blue.
(9 photos of a 1966 Wimbledon White Mustang Sprint Hardtop) Wimbledon White 1966 Mustang with a Sprint Package 200 A, 120 hp (at 4400 rpm), 200 cubic inch, inline 6 cylinder engine. Due to the popular demand of the 289 cubic inch V8, 1966 Ford introduced the "Sprint Package 200" followed by what we think might have been an "A" for automatic transmission and "B" for manual. Ford was not very proud of this solution to the engine shortage so the Sprint Package threw in several standard option upgrades for free (center console, courtesy lights, side accent paint stripe color matched with the car's interior, and the deluxe wire-style wheel covers) and advertised the package as a "Limited Edition". The engine on all models came with decal that read "Mustang Powered Sprint 200" on the chrome air cleaner. Most books have the "A" Sprint option listed as Manual transmission and "B" as Automatic. This car is an "A" model according to the invoice and appears to have an automatic transmission although the data tag is hard to verify. We also have a
1968 Sprint with the same situation but the invoice clearly states Sprint "A" and automatic transmission.

"This a very original unrestored 66 coupe. It was built in San Jose, California on 7 Feb 1966. It was imported to Australia in 2010 and I bought it a week after it arrived in the country. The car even arrived with the original pink slip and several US Nationals Parks passes. The car was purchased in the US from the same family who bought the car originally. It is an excellent example of the classic icon."

"This car was handed to me by a previous owner who didn't have time for it. I have been showing this car at shows because of its rarity. It's was sold thru through the military PX system, shipped from the US to Europe, and sent back when a soldier was done with there tour of duty. It's been with me for a year and a half and has won best of show, best of class, and also a Facebook page.

"This Mustang was born in California where she stood for nearly 40 years. Then it was imported to Europe by Holland, and was bought by a French man in the north of France. He conserved her for two years, sold her to my neighbor in Chalon-sur-Sane and I bought her in the summer of 2011." It still has it's original 289ci V8 and an automatic transmission. The data plate is "65 A M 22 06G 72 6 6". 65 is for the hardtop coupe body style. B is for the standard body trim. M is for Wimbledon White. 22 is for the blue with blue trim interior. 06G is for the assembly date of July 6th. 72 is for the San Jose ordering district. The first 6 is for 2.8 rear end gear. The second 6 is for the C4 automatic transmission.

"Complete professional restoration. All Shelby equipment is there; alloy pan, valve covers, Cobra intake, and SS exhaust system with SS headers. It has new tires, lowered suspension, Magnum 500 Shelby wheels, SS disc brakes, and a 4-speed top loader. This car has no issues. It is one of the best replica's I have seen. "

"This is a very original Mustang Sprint 200 convertible. I found this car on a recent vacation in Tahoe. It was advertised locally by the owner of 30 years. It was in dry storage for several years. He kept the vehicle maintained - I have receipts for over $15,000 spent. I drove the car back from Tahoe after flushing out coolant fluids etc, and it drove flawlessly the 200 mile trip back to the East Bay. The pony interior could do with new covers. Still very presentable."
