Only one other 1970 Mustang engine was more powerful, and that was the Boss 375ph( at 5600rpm) 429 cubic inch, V8 with Ram Air induction. The Super Cobra Jet could not be ordered separately as an option but came with the 3.91:1 and 4.30:1 axle ratios options which earned buyers a Drag Pak option ($155) that included the 428 Super Cobra Jet and an engine oil cooler.
