Here is one of the Hertz Shelby GT500H advertisements from 1966. Yes, that is a blurry image. The GT350 is cook'n. It says, "There are only 1000 of these for rend in the entire world. Hertz has them all. It's the Shelby G.T.350-H. Only Hertz rents it. Cobra engine. Disc brakes. High speed wheels and tires. Stick shift or automatic. Rally stripes. High performance shocks. Torque controlled rear axle. The whole load. Why a rent-a-car with all this performance? We could have gotten a fleet of high-powered pseudo-sports-cars. But we figured you'd want to try a champion. Not just another imitation. So we got the one car that holds the Sports Car Club of America National Championship. And you can rent this 4-seater G.T.350-H from Hertz in most cities for a day. Or longer. But only from Hertz. Two stipulations. You have to be at least 25 years old. And you have to hurry. (It's all on a first-come-first-serve basis.) So make your reservation today. One local phone call reserves your car here. Or just about anywhere in the country. Call the only rent-a-car company that offers you a championship G.T.350-H."

Hertz presents the G.T. 350-H This is the cover of one of the original 1966 Hertz brochures advertising the Mustang Shelby GT350H. It says,

The Hertz Sports Car Club features the G.T. 350-H (The H is for Hertz) This exciting car is available for rental exclusively through Hertz in more than 60 cities coast to coast. The car is readily identifiable by its jet black body and vivid twin gold rally stripes from grille to rear bumper. These cars are available to business travelers who want a change of pace in motoring, by sports car owners away from home and by vacationers who consider driving an enjoyable holiday sport. Carrol Shelby, maker of the world-famous 1965 Manufacturer's Champion Cobra, took the Mustang Fastback and turned it into a high performance champion. First, he took the super-powered Ford 289 engine and "Cobra-ized" it... and he ended up with an unbelievable 306 charging horses. He redesigned the suspension geometry and came up with a car that handles with the ease of a street machine and the response-to-command of a competition car. There is an interesting note at the bottom that only the original renter of the car can drive it.

This Raven Black 1966 Shelby GT-350 Hertz Mustang fastback was at the 2010 Mustang Club of America Grand Nationals held in the Seattle area of Washington. I waited most of the day to get these shots. It was cloudy most of the morning and then the hood was only partially opened. The gold stripes on this car were amazing. You could see them from a long ways off.

Check out this amazingly restored Silver Frost 1967 Shelby GT350 Mustang fastback owned by Emmanuel Theux of Monte-Carlo, Monaco. There are several other darker gray 1967 Shelbys out there but this is the color and year that inspired the Eleanor Shelby used in the Nicolas Cage, 2000 movie Gone in 60 seconds which is also a light gray, but more accurately Eleanor Pepper Gray Dupont 44490. There is much confusion on what 1967 Shelby color code 6 for Medium Gray is. Marti confirmed with Emmanuel that over the years Ford color code M1901 Silver Frost had been mistaken for the correct Ford color code
M1900 Thunderbird Charcoal Gray. Emmanuel's 67 GT350 was our
Attitude Of The Week for May 3rd, 2009. Emmanuel has owned many Mustangs. Check them out by
