Has viewer comments (from page 37 of the 1966 Collection) This shot is interesting. It shows the flexible pipe that connects the side scoops to the wheel well. The side scoops are functional on the 1966 Shelby. They allow extra cool air to the rear brakes.

This GT-350 with aftermarket wheels and customized engine was at the 2010 Mustang Club of America Grand Nationals held in Bellevue, Washington.

It still has its original 289ci engine. Lime Gold was more of a green than a gold in color. Those side scoops down low behind the doors are functional! They provide cool air to the rear brakes.

The 67 is for the 1967 model year. 2 is for the 289 GT-350 engine. The first 0 is for the 4-speed manual transmission. The second 0 is for a base vehicle without air conditioning nor emission control. F is for the fastback body style. 7 is for the Lime Gold paint. A is for the black interior. The last 5 digits 01385 is the sequential Shelby unit number.

The 1970 Shelbys have black stripes on the hoods. These cars are really 1969 Shelbys that were left over at the Shelby factory. They were re-serialized and black stripes painted on the hoods.
