Black 1977 Mustang II with Cobra II package, owned by Mike Baker, from Elgin, Illinois. He just purchased it off eBay! It has a 302ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Like in 1976, the 1977 Cobra came in white with blue stripes, blue with white stripes, or black with gold stripes. New in 1977 the Cobra could come with white with red stripes and white with green stripes. This is an early 1977 Cobra where the lettering is low on the door, later in the year they were higher up. Cobras came with vertical-style quarter-window louvers, rear-window horizontal louvers, sport mirrors, facing hood scoop and rear spoiler.

Black 1977 Mustang II with Cobra II package, right rear view. The rear window and rear quarter window louvers blocked the sunlight from heating the interior while allowing the driver to out the back of the car.

Silver 1977 Mustang Cobra hatchback owned by Timothy Brown from Washington. The front bumper has been painted silver and the stripes are wrapped around it as well. Timothy says that he got it about a month ago.

The rear bumper is painted silver and the stripes extend over it as well. Silver was a special order color in 1977. I wonder what color this was originally.

White 1977 Mustang Cobra II hatchback was a $535 options package in 1977 which came with stripes, Cobra lettering, vertical rear quarter window louvers, dual sport mirrors, rear opening hood scoop, BR70 or 195/R70 x 13 RWL tires, and brushed aluminum door trim inserts. This combination of white with blue stripes was also available in 1976 but new to 1977 was white with red and white with green stripes.

Gray 1977 Mustang Cobra II owned by Mike Kiminas from Boynton Beach, Florida. Mike has owned the car for two years. It has a 5.0L V8 from a 1993 Cobra R, a automatic with overdrive transmission, 8.8 inch rear end with limit slip 3.73 gears, disc brakes with five lugs, BF Goodrich tires, and Magnum 500 wheels.

Black 1977 Mustang Cobra II hatchback with with red stripes and the largest engine offered in 1977 a 5.0 liter (302 cubic inch), 2 barrel, V8 engine. This is not an original Cobra color combination. Black Cobras only came with gold stripes. Other color factory combinations included: white with blue, green, or red stripes; and blue with white stripes. In 1978 more colors were offered on the Cobra.
