(from page 2 of the 1985 Collection) Dark Sage 1985 Mustang LX coupe. In 1985 the L model series was dropped making this the bottom-level model which came in the coupe or hatchback. This LX coupe has the optional wire wheels which was an original $98 option.

(from page 2 of the 1985 Collection) Left side view of the Dark Sage Green 1985 Mustang LX. This car has the largest engine offered in 1985, the 210 hp (at 4400rpm), 302 cubic inch, 5.0 liter, high output, five speed, V8. This combination had so much power in 1985 that many police cars were ordered with this LX and M-code engine combination.

(from page 5 of the 1985 Collection) Sand Beige 1985 Mustang coupe showing off its unique front grille. This single opening grille with flat bar on top showing the Ford emblem was only on the 1985 Mustang. This was the closest color to yellow on a Mustang in 1985. See our 1985 Mustang Data Explorer to see all the 1985 standard colors.

(from page 5 of the 1985 Collection) Check out this Black 1985 Mustang GT with custom Konig Monsoon wheels and lots of upgrades under the hood. It was submitted to us by its third owner who has had it for over 5 years. The original owner said, I ordered a black 5 spd. in '84 and described it to a co-worker and eventually she ordered one. Yours! She ordered it from Samara Jeep in Grafton, MA, through Ramelli Ford in Uxbridge, MA. Her brother told her to buy it loaded, thus the aod. We eventually dated and married (bosses daughter!). I took it over and sent it to Quest Racing (Worcester, MA) for the powertrain mods and roll bar. They usually build monster motors for race and 'street '. Unfortunately all of those businesses don't exist anymore. Sad.

(from page 5 of the 1985 Collection) This view really shows off those custom Konig Monsoon wheels with 245/40ZR 17 tires. In 1985, black was only offered on the GT and SVO, not the base level models. The fender badge of 5.8L indicates something special under the hood.

(from page 9 of the 1985 Collection) A two page spread of the 1985 Ford Mustang Promotional Brochure shows the Ford Mustang LX model in both the 2-door coupe and 3-door hatchback body style. The LX is the base level Mustang offering.
