(from page 16 of the 1964 Collection) There were thirty-five 1964 Indy Pace Car convertibles used as Dignitary Cars for the race. They were built with red, white, or blue interiors. They were auctioned to dealerships and sold to the public after the race event. They were also known as festival cars, probably because they circled the track at the 500 Festival Open Invitation - a PGA Tour event in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1964. A couple are known to still exist today.

(from page 8 of the 1965 Collection) Check out this Wimbledon White 1965 Shelby GT-350 competition. It's owned by a site visitor in Palos Heights, Illinois. This was our featured Attitude Of the Week for the week starting November 14, 2010. The owner says that it is very correct with one exception - aluminum Z304 racing heads. He drives it everywhere! This photo is also our 12,000th Mustang photo posted to the site.

Reiny adds, "We bought this car in 1996 from the second owner. The first owner had the car for 29 years. We restored it in 1998/2001 to show condition. We have also the original window sticker. The car is a factory GT."

(from page 15 of the 1965 Collection) This is a real 1965 Mustang Shelby GT-350 fastback. The Guardsman Blue rocker stripes are standard on the 1965 Shelby. The LeMans style stripes over the top of the car were optional and was applied by the dealer Sexton Ford Sales Inc. in Moline, Illinois. The hood on a 1965 Shelby is fiberglass.
