(from page 4 of the 1983 Collection) Check out this red 1983 Mustang GLX convertible owned by Jeff from Canada. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 22, 2012. It has a 5.0L engine and an automatic transmission. The color is Vermilion Red from 1994. Jeff adds, "I am the second owner. It has 83000 kilometers on it. I purchased the car from a man who had a company car and this was his summer car. His daughter was turning 16 and he was worried about her driving it, so he sold the car to me. These pictures were taken along the Niagara River about 15 minutes from Niagara Falls."

(from page 4 of the 1983 Collection) Another shot of Jeff's 1983 Mustang GLX but with the white convertible top up.

(from page 5 of the 1983 Collection) Bright Red 1983 Mustang GLX convertible. The GLX was the base level convertible for 1983 which came with the 3.8 liter, 2 barrel 6 cylinder engine originally rated at 105hp (at 4000rpm). The GLX model was between the base model or LX and GT. Only 1001 GT convertibles where built in 1983 with 8 of them ordered in Canada. See our 1983 Mustang data explorer for more information.

(from page 5 of the 1983 Collection) Viper Red 1983 Mustang GT hatchback owned by Mark C from Marietta, Georgia. Mark says, "I am the second owner, and have owned my 1983 GT for about 15 years. It is a #s matching 302 HO 5-speed with all original interior with the premium sound system. The car has a few performance mods - i.e. camshaft, headers, and HEI distributor. The car runs and looks great for a 30 year old car."

(from page 5 of the 1983 Collection) The Mustang convertible was gone for nine years. 1983 was the re-introduction of the Mustang convertible. This is a Ford promotional photo of a Medium Red 1983 Mustang GLX convertible which came out mid year. Ford used Cars & Concepts of Brighton, Michigan to convert steel topped coupes from the factory into these convertible.

(from page 5 of the 1983 Collection) The Mustang convertible was re-introduced in 1983. This is a Ford promotional photo of a Medium Red 1983 Mustang GLX convertible with wire wheels, body side molding, and color keyed mirrors. The front window trim looks a little odd, because in 1983 Ford sent out all Mustang convertibles to be created from coupes.

(from page 6 of the 1983 Collection) This is the 1983 Ford Mustang promotional brochure. The front cover shows a bright red Mustang GT. One significant change to the 1983 Mustang was the re-introduction of the convertible midyear which came in the GLX trim package; and had an electric top, a real glass rear window, and a comfortable back seat.

(from page 6 of the 1983 Collection) The Mustang convertible is back after being discontinued after 1973. A Bright Red Mustang GLX convertible is shown here in the 1983 Ford Mustang promotional booklet. In 1983 the convertible came only with the GLX options, the t-roof was still considered a more sporty convertible and was offered on the GT.

(from page 7 of the 1983 Collection) Medium Red 1983 Mustang GLX hatchback owned by Travis from Eugene, Oregon. It has a 5.0L V8 engine and a manual transmission. Travis tells us, "On the fence with restoration. This car is possessed, 1st car, tons of work, but fast and fun. I am just curious to know how rare this model is. I have never seen another 1983 Mustang GLX hatchback with a 5.0 and a 4-speed."
