(from page 31 of the 1967 Collection) Amazing Colorado Sky Country Special 1967 Mustang hardtop in Aspen Red exterior paint. This one has the dealer installed a half vinyl roof and opera window. But check out that Aspen Red special order paint. One of 4 special ordered colors for this promotion. This car is missing its truck top mounted luggage rack, but it does have a rear mounted Ski Country Special badge. Check out all the photos.

(from page 31 of the 1967 Collection) Nice side view of Richard's 1967 Ski Country Special really showing off that special order Aspen Red paint. The other 3 colors of this promotion included Loveland Green, Brechenridge Yellow, and Winter Park Turquoise. This color actually started our paintref.com website. Before that site, no one knew what all four colors looked like. Even Frank, the owner of the other Aspen Red Ski Country Special car thought his car was re-painted the wrong color. After hours of looking through paint chip pages I found chips for all four colors under different years, makes, and models. Not wanting spend this time again on other special order paints, I created paintref.com.

(from page 6 of the 1968 Collection) Mike Abajian Jr of Texas owns this beautiful 1968 Rainbow of Colors promotional red orange Mustang hardtop. Mike writes: I bought this original 'Rainbow of Colors' car on-line about two years ago. The gentleman who restored this car initially intended to part it out. He opted to restore its original Calypso Coral special order paint (known as Flower Power Orange in '68). Mike's 1968 Mustang was our Attitude Of The Week for February 1st, 2009.

(from page 6 of the 1968 Collection) Here is another view of Mike's Calypso Coral (Flower Power Red) 1968 Rainbow of Colors promotional Mustang hardtop. All of these promotional Mustangs were built in the San Jose plant and special ordered on the West Coast. Most were Sprint optioned Mustang hardtops, but there where a few where GTs, fastbacks, or Mach1's.

(from page 6 of the 1968 Collection) This Flower Power Red 1968 Rainbow of Colors promotional Mustang hardtop is owned by Mike Abajian Jr. of Texas and is our Attitude Of The Month for the month of September, 2010 and is in our 2010 calendar.

(from page 18 of the 1968 Collection) This is a Flower Power Red 1968 Rainbow Of Colors Mustang convertible. It is owned by Don Croft. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 30, 2011. The Rainbow Of Colors promotion ran on the west coast on 1968 and 1969 Mustangs. They featured special paint offerings in all colors of the rainbow. This one was sold new at Highland Park Motors Inc. in Los Angeles, California. Don tells us, "I bought it back in 2004, and was told by the previous owner it was 'Grabber Orange'. I knew at the time this wasn't correct as Grabber Orange was a '69 color, and bit lighter than the shade of my Mustang. I had wondered since about the correct color, until last year when I stumbled onto your website, which encouraged me to run the Marty Report..." Besides the special order paint, the Marty Report listed the following options: 289-2V Engine, Parchment Power Top w/ Glass Backlite, C-4 Cruise-O-Matic Transmission, F70X14 Wide Oval Tires, White Sidewall Nylon Tires, Air Conditioner - Selectaire, AM/8-Track Stereo Radio, and Tinted Glass

It was originally bought in on June 19th, 1969 from Owen Ford in Vineland New Jersey for $2802. It was stock number M336. This Mustang still looks new! Only 508 Limited Edition 600s were produced. They only came in Flower Power Red or Groovy Green.
