4.5 of 5 mustang attitude4.5 of 5 mustang attitude4.5 of 5 mustang attitude4.5 of 5 mustang attitude4.5 of 5 mustang attitude (from page 7 of the 1964 Collection) Poppy Red 1964 Mustang convertible owned by Gene Walinski from Simi Valley, California. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting June 26, 2016. It was originally Poppy Red and still has it's original 260ci engine. Gene had this story to share, "I bought this Mustang in 1978 for $400 with around 38000 miles on it. She had an 'Earl Sheib' $19.95 chalky red paint job with spray painted stripes along the hood and body-side contours and a street car bell mounted under the car below the driver's seat. It had been outdoors for years. With my sister and I both taking classes on body, paint and upholstery, as well as my father having a repair shop, we managed to paint it back to its original color, sew new upholstery, and replace the top in about two years. It was beautiful and remained completely stock for the next 35 years except for a four row radiator, front disc brakes and a set of '68 GT500KR wheels. Eventually, in 1998, it got a new paint job (free) from a body shop I had been referring work to, got some new tires and the wheels polished (also for free) from a local tire and wheel shop where we had wheel and tire packages installed on new Mercedes and Volvos from the dealership where I worked. A couple of years ago, I decided to make a 'tribute' car or 'tribute' to Carol Shelby at which time, my wife deemed it the Wanna-be, resulting in the GT 1AB stripe and license plate. (won-a-b). I added stripes, tribar headlamps, engine dress up kit and a 'euro Brace' and Monte Carlo bar under the hood. It's never been wrecked, lives in then garage and hasn't been washed in two years or so. I think it's one of the best looking color combinations ever made and people everywhere I go say so too. Still has the original 260 V8 2bbl and the generator and will be going strong for many years to come!"

The GT package was very popular in 1966 because the option sold for $152.20 and included the high-performance 271hp (at 6000rpm), 289 cubic inch, V8 engine; dual exhaust; fog lamps; special ornamentation; disc brakes; GT racing stripes and handling package components. This Mustang shows off its Red Band nylon tires which was a option for $48.89, and styled steel wheels for $93.84. This photo is available in two wallpaper sizes; 800-600 wallpaper and 1024-768 wallpaper.

This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 10, 2010. Dale tells us, "I bought it from Auto Investors in Dothan Alabama in 2008. I put about six thousand miles on it this year. I am really loving the thrill of owning and driving such a beautiful classic car."

3.5 of 5 mustang attitude3.5 of 5 mustang attitude3.5 of 5 mustang attitude3.5 of 5 mustang attitude3.5 of 5 mustang attitude (from page 5 of the 1968 Collection) This rare 1968 Madagascar Orange Mustang hardtop from the west coast Rainbow of Colors promotion is owned by Dale Olson of Rohnert Park, California. It was our Attitude Of The Week for December 28th, 2008. Dale writes, I got this car in 1990 and finished restoring it in 1996. It was not show room quality, but it was a very nice car. For the entire time I've had it, I was misreading the data plate and didn't know exactly what the car was. Even few years ago I did search on internet of Orange 68 Mustang, and got nothing. Just within the past few weeks I finally found out the car was a part of the Rainbow Mustang promotion of 68 and 69. I don't have the original engine in it because when I got the car someone had put a straight six in it. I also had a 67 mustang with a 289 4v that was usable so I rebuilt it. Also no longer have the C4 automatic for it. I put in the Ford design 4 speed (RUG-E2), but no modifications other than bolt-ons. The car only has 23,000 miles on it since restoring it, but due to it sitting outside in the weather, it needs to be completely restored again (except the engine, transmission, and rear end). We've included some scanned in photos after its first restoration in 1996, hopefully Dale can get us more in the future. Also take a look at our Rainbow of Colors special information page to see what we believe all 13 colors from the Rainbow of Colors promotion looked like along with photos of other Rainbow of Colors cars.

He opted to restore its original Calypso Coral special order paint (known as Flower Power Orange in '68). Mike's 1968 Mustang was our Attitude Of The Week for February 1st, 2009.

4.6 of 5 mustang attitude4.6 of 5 mustang attitude4.6 of 5 mustang attitude4.6 of 5 mustang attitude4.6 of 5 mustang attitude (from page 18 of the 1968 Collection) This is a Flower Power Red 1968 Rainbow Of Colors Mustang convertible. It is owned by Don Croft. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 30, 2011. The Rainbow Of Colors promotion ran on the west coast on 1968 and 1969 Mustangs. They featured special paint offerings in all colors of the rainbow. This one was sold new at Highland Park Motors Inc. in Los Angeles, California. Don tells us, "I bought it back in 2004, and was told by the previous owner it was 'Grabber Orange'. I knew at the time this wasn't correct as Grabber Orange was a '69 color, and bit lighter than the shade of my Mustang. I had wondered since about the correct color, until last year when I stumbled onto your website, which encouraged me to run the Marty Report..." Besides the special order paint, the Marty Report listed the following options: 289-2V Engine, Parchment Power Top w/ Glass Backlite, C-4 Cruise-O-Matic Transmission, F70X14 Wide Oval Tires, White Sidewall Nylon Tires, Air Conditioner - Selectaire, AM/8-Track Stereo Radio, and Tinted Glass

This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting May 11, 2014. Michael tells us, "I bought this car from an importer in 2011 and set about restoring it myself. It was originally a Limegold and Parchment vinyl roof car. Its been repainted in Calypso Coral with a black vinyl roof. The Ivy Gold interior has also bee replaced with a new black interior. I've had every nut and bolt out and know the car intimately now. I managed to track down the previous owner in California, who was very surprised to find the car had made it downunder and he was able to fill in some of its history. It recently attended the Mustang 50th Anniversary Celebrations in Geelong Australia, after driving it halfway across the country and back."

I came with some additional touches making not quite stock. It has a Shelby roll bar installed, 1970 hood locks, and the roof emblems were removed giving it a cleaner look. This car was originally purchased from Russ Davis Ford in Covina, California under the Rainbow of Colors promotion with a color code of WT9106 or Purple."

This Mustang still has it's original 351ci engine. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting 8-17-08. Rick has this story to share, "I rode in the car when it was new. It belonged to a friend of my family. I purchased the car in August of 1977 to drive to college and have driven all over the Southeast until now. The Grande was disassembled and painted by a friend, which turned into a three year process. It was completed two years ago [2006]. I have had it at several local shows and someone will always come up and ask 'What is it?' or tells me 'Ford didn't build a Granada in 1970'. So many experts out there."

3.8 of 5 mustang attitude3.8 of 5 mustang attitude3.8 of 5 mustang attitude3.8 of 5 mustang attitude3.8 of 5 mustang attitude (from page 2 of the 1974 Collection) This Medium Copper (Chestnut) 1974 Mach 1 is owned by Bobby Aldrich and is our Attitude of the Week starting August 28, 2017. Bobby writes, I bought my 1974 Mustang Mach1 project car from Arnold Marks at Mustangs Etc. in Van Nuys, CA. in July of 2015. The car had been sitting with 152K and a broken off crank pulley bolt since 1986. I had the car shipped to me after seeing a few pictures of it. I love the original cooper color with tan interior. I like my cars some what stock looking. I found the engine was not original to the car and with all of the parts that were missing, I decided to added and delete options to make the car the way I would have ordered it in 1974. It had a 2.8L V6, C/4, A/C, P/S, PB and a 6 3/4" rear end with 3:55 gears. The options I chose were a 2.3L that gave you a $ 229 credit when ordered on the Mach 1. A 4 speed, PB, No A/C or P/S, a 8" rear end with 3:00 gears. Ford didn't offer 3:00 in 74 I just had to have the freeway gears, console, clock, deluxe door panels, rear sway bar and a AM FM 8 track stereo. I also added aftermarket rear window louvers. I've done all of the work on the car myself and made all of the changes the way they would have been done at the factory, I used all of the correct parts including wire harnesses. I used NOS and reproduction parts when I could find them and reconditioned used parts when I had to. 1974 Mustangs are even rare among Mustang II's in 2016. I have found the 1974's have many unique one year only parts. I will use the car for weekend driving and car shows along with my four other Mustang II's.
