This page says, The 2.3 liter turbocharged engine has acceleration comparable to some other cars with V-8 engines. Plenty of reserve power for passing or freeway merging. The turbocharger is basically an air compressor driven by recycled exhaust gases. At your command, it pressurizes atmospheric air to increase the velocity of the fuel/air mixture. This simple principle produces great acceleration.

I found out that only 29 hatchbacks where painted color code 4M in 1985 - add to that the limited production of 'T-roof' cars and I am certain this is a one of vehicle. Like Bonnie and Clyde thanked Ford for such an awesome vehicle, I will have to do the same. This vehicle has never left us dead anywhere. At times her gallop was not what it should have been but she always made it home. "
