Vapor 2008 Mustang coupe owned by Todd from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This is our featured
Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 6, 2013. This Mustang has a 4.0L V6 engine and an automatic transmission. Todd tells us,
"This is my first Mustang. I fell in love with the Mustang when the 2005 model was first released. This car more than exceeded my expectations. The 4.0L has plenty of power. The car came with a true
dual Magnaflow exhaust, that sounds bad-ass. I put a CAI and an American Muscle SCT tuner is in the cards. The picture does not show the 18-inch polished bullet rims. They are in my basement waiting for the spring. I bought the car in November over the internet and had it shipped to my house. I am happy to say the car's condition did not disappoint. It came fully loaded with only 45,000 kms on it. The original owner parked it every winter and really care for it. Overall a nine on ten. The moment I saw the car I realized this car will not be seeing a Canadian winter. Just tooooo nice a toy. So that leaves me with two cars parked in the winter (I also own a C4 corvette). For the short period of time I got to drive the car I loved it. This car gets as much attention as my Vette. It may be a six but the car goes if you really want to hit it; and the sound, pure joy. The Mustang really reminds me of that old school muscle car but much more refined. Love the interior! Can't wait for summer. Until then I sit and
stare at the pictures and order stuff online."

This is a silver prototype 2010 Mustang Cobra Jet. The limited run of 50 cars that follow are all white and manufactured on the same production line that produces the 2010 Ford Mustang production car. Building on the track-only 2008 Mustang Cobra Jet, the 2010 version has new graphics, a choice between several 5.4L supercharged or normally aspirated V8 engines, adjustable front and rear shocks, manual steering and brakes, roll cage, competition shifter, Hoosier drag radials, Weld wheels, and a rear mounted battery with cut-off switch.
(from page 12 of the 2010 Collection)
The 2010 Mustang Cobra Jet is based off the V6 bodyline to allow many of the options to be purchased by owners of street legal Mustangs from the Ford Performance Parts catalog. If you do performance upgrade your Mustang, don't remove the side and center rear view mirrors like this one. This is one reason why this car is not street legal.

Rear view of the silver 2010 Mustang Cobra Jet prototype showing off its FR500JC designation and Cobra Jet rear decklid emblem which looks very similar to the 1970 Sidewinder Special graphic. The FR500 is a Ford Racing class of turn-key race cars produced on the standard Ford Mustang production line in Flat Rock, Michigan. The CJ is Cobra Jet. Other versions are the FR500C (5.0L "Cammer R50" 420hp engine), FR500S (Ford's 4.6L V8 325hp engine), and the FR500GT (5.0L V8 550hp engine) to name a few.

The interior has been stripped down to just the essentials. No ignition key, no air conditioning, no radio... The red button on the shifter is the trans brake used to lock the transmission to allow the engine to throttle to be opened larger while waiting for the green light of the drag racing tree. The trans brake was designed and patented by Steve McQueen in 1977. The red button on the shifter is also commonly connected to Nitrous.
