Teresa had this to share, "Always wanted a 65 Mustang. When I decided to sell my motorcycle, I couldn't leave the spare garage empty and I certainly couldn't use the money from the sale of the motorcycle for anything but another toy. So it was decided. I knew I wanted Honey Gold and maybe I wasn't patient enough because I settled on a Honey Gold in need of a lot of work. Started looking in Feb of 2011 and found mine in June of 2011. My original budget is busted, but I don't think I have more in her than she's worth. Her name is Gracie Lou."

It was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 2nd, 2011. The owner comments, "It had been sitting for 4+ years on four flats with an unmolested deluxe interior and exterior. It had a 450 HP dual carbed 302 with a Tremec 6-speed and Total Control Products (TCP) for coil-overs. I got it home, changed all fluids, and added a set of Vari-Shock dual adjustable shocks. A new battery was needed, so a Gel cell red top was added. It was already relocated to the trunk. After a few cranks it fired right up. I ran it down to the muffler shop and purchased 2-1/4-inch pipe with Flow Masters. I drove vehicle for three years until a complete (down to frame) restoration was done. The tear down revealed a dead mice nest in headliner and others in the rear wheel wells. I thought there was an odd smell. The color is Sauterne and is as close as one can get, with modern paints, to the original with the Wimbledon White stripes. The wheels are original style and size. Two sets were purchased and used to make one set that is wider and offset. The semi-slick Toyo R888 are perfectly sized at 235/50/15 in the rear and 205/50/15 up front. All four corners have disk brakes, SSBC up front and the large stock ones that came on the 9-inch Lincoln Versi rear end. The differential is a built with 3.80 gears, connected using an aluminum drive shaft. The steering is done with Flaming River components and a sub-frame kit welded underneath. This car is solid, and has been done very very well."

It still has it's original 289ci V8 engine. Paul tells us more, "You've heard about the 1966 Gold Edition Millionth Anniversary Mustangs that were built to commemorate the one-millionth-sales success in 1966. Well they only made about 50 of them so maybe not. They made about 50 of these and there are only 5 known to exist today!

In 1966, about 50 special ordered Anniversary Gold Mustangs were built as part of the Millionth Mustang Anniversary, special order number 1111 and sent to dealerships across the nation. Of the few that have been found, the common features include that they are all hardtops and have C-code 289ci 2-barrel V8 engine, pony interior, steel styled wheels, and special Anniversary Gold paint. There was no paint code for this particular vehicle and they were all made on March 29, 1966.

This car was in two magazines: The June 2009 issue of Cars & Parts, and the July 2009 issue of Mustang Monthly. The original owner says this car was the first unit produced, and that it had been on promotional display as Metke Ford in Bellevue Washington. 'Treasure Chest' keys were mailed to area residents - inside the dealership's chest were keys to the Gold Mustang. The owner's father-in-law stopped by the Ford place while his wife went shopping for a dress: the car was his. The whole story was told in the Seattle Times and Seattle Post Intelligencer. It has been in storage since 1985 by the original owner.

I purchased the car in June of 2009. The car is now stored in my garage where it has been since I purchased it. I have a copy of the original owner's title in Washington. It has a documented 53,987 original miles."

It has the black Pony interior. Shelley tells us, "My Grandpa and Grandma, Joe & Mary Jane McCartney, bought this car from an Okla City, Okla dealer off the show room floor. They owned McCartney Auto Service in Tulsa, OK. It was gave to me in a will, because I kept my first car that I still have - a 1967 Stang."

This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting April 10, 2011. Denis tells us more, "I bought the car in 1995. It was a rusted basket like all eastern Canada cars (dso B2). I took the time to restore it myself. Originally it was a 5 option car; power top, power steering, console, AM radio, and deluxe seatbelts. I add the following options; power brakes, tilt away, convenience control panel, headrest, exterior decor group, luggage rack, clock, AM/FM radio, right mirror, vanity mirror, hood/trunk/glove box and ashtray lights, open light reminder, remote trunk, chrome sill plate extensions, wire style hubcaps, wheel opening moldings, and I add fogs lights because I like the look."

It was sent in by site visitor, Gary, who noticed that we didn't have any photos of a Limited Edition 400 Mustang. These photos were taken soon after purchasing it new in 1967. He purchased it for his soon-to-be wife from C. Bradshaw, Inc. in Harvey, Illinois. Thanks Gary! Gary tells us more, "It was a special gold color with black vinyl top. It had black leather bucket seats with a 289 V8 with auto transmission and a floor console shifter. It had a 'Limited Edition 400' emblem on each of the front fenders. Everyone thought that it meant 400 cubic inches, but actually it designated a limited edition model of 400 cars for the Chicago market. A very sharp car and fun to drive. We eventually traded it in for a new Ford Maverick (DUMB)."

This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting July 12, 2015. It has it's original 289ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Tom says, "I bought it in 1980 in Anaheim, California. It is mostly original and unrestored. It does have fresh paint and I did rebuild the engine, but other than that, it is basically a survivor."

Ty tells us more, "This is a Canadian car which has stayed in Ontario its whole life. The car is in complete original condition and has been painted only once. The body and undercarriage of the car has been preserved extremely well, with no rust at all. It has a 260 six cylinder that runs very well. It is hard to decide what to do with such a car being in such perfect condition."

The owner is Randy Cantrell from North Carolina. Randy tells us more, "This car has been in my family since 1970. It was my brother's car. He was killed in 1972. His wife had a hard time driving a straight drive. I had just turned 16 and gotten my 1st car - a 1965 2+2 fastback 289 auto. My brother's wife asked me if I would trade my car for the Shelby. I didn't hesitate and I've had it ever since. I had no ideal it was the 1st 68 GT-350 convertible made until Peter Disher from www.thecoralsnake.com did the an article on the car. Needless to say it's a special car to me." Peter Disher discovered that Shelby's first four conversions on 1968 Mustangs where Hertz show cars - a GT350 convertible, GT350 fastback, GT500 convertible, and a GT500 fastback. Each was painted Sunlit Gold. And THIS is the GT350 Hertz convertible.

The owner had this to share, "I had been looking for a 69 Fastback since seeing one at a much younger age. My Bro was air-vac'ed to Phoenix after being hit by a drunk driver. I saw it parked on my way to the hospital but did not waste any time and drove past exceeding every speed limit. I arrived at the hospital and a team of Doctors met me. They told me that my Bro did not make it - there was nothing that could be done. The ride home went much slower. I was going to drive past the Mustang, but I knew he would have wanted me to stop. I found out that a serious collector had also passed away - his son was selling all the cars to move to Paris and start a-new. We had something in common, and he wanted the cars to have meaning to their new owners. So at 16 I bought my car in Payson, Arizona [1994]. After trying to find a few replacement parts and failing, I was confused. While getting gas one night a magnificent truck and hauler pulled in. The driver had the most beautiful 1969 Camaro inside the hauler. He got out and begin to speak to me. Asking if I knew what I had, and what I was driving. With disgust he said 'Please tell me you don't drive this car everyday, it belongs on a glass show room floor.' Coming from a person who loved Chevy's this made me curious as to what my car might really be."

Can you help? He comments, "Made in Metuchen, this coupe I think was a inexpensive coupe, but special in color. Ever heard or seen one like this before? I am second owner. " The Marti report calls it Medium Gold Metallic while the data tag says Nugget gold. It has the 250ci 6-cylinder engine.

It still has it's original 351 Cleveland 2V V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Kevin tells us, "I purchased this from a man in Sweetwater Tennessee on January 30th, 2015. I don't know much about these Mustangs but was bitten as soon as I seen her parked there. She is that I can tell all stock, but I'd really appreciate any info I can get on this specific model. She has 66,000 miles on her and started and drove well. The chromed front grille emblem and headlight trim was inside the car. She is missing a front right frontal trim piece where the fender is dented. She is almost completely rust free which leads me to believe that she was garage kept for many years prior to her being kept outside. I hope to slowly restore her a bit at a time as monies permit, keeping it stock. Maybe. There are so many upgrades that also seem like nice 'additions'."
