(from page 6 of the 1965 Collection) Carson Roberts is having his 1965 Mustang hardtop painted. Here it is in white primer. The engine is a Crate Jasper 289 and the transmission is a top loader 4-speed built by American Shifty Corp. Here it is at Rusher Customizing. It was striped down to bare metal with every hole welded shut.
(from page 6 of the 1965 Collection) Carson's Mustang is in the paint both receiving a coat of blue paint. It's the Grabber Blue from the 2009 and 2010 Mustangs. The openings are masked off with paper and tape. Notice how the masking goes right down to the floor. This is so that overspray has no chance to get to the underside of the car.
Has viewer comments (from page 6 of the 1965 Collection) The body is now Grabber Blue. The front inner fenders and frame are flat black.
(from page 6 of the 1965 Collection) The Grabber Blue paint also goes on the hood, fenders, trunk lid, valance pieces, and headlight surrounds.
(from page 6 of the 1965 Collection) Carson Roberts is putting back together his Mustang after new paint. The front bumper, grille, parking lights, and headlights are installed.

(from page 7 of the 1967 Collection) Geoff from Australia is restoring this 1967 Mustang hardtop. He's painted it Ice Blue. Under the hood is the original 289ci V8 2V engine. Geoff tells us more, "My '67 is in the early stages of restoration and a conversion to Right-Hand-Drive is being done as we speak. The engine and C4 Trans will undergo reconditioning while conversion is being done. Then it will be re-assembled with extractors, 2" system, new chrome, etc."

(from page 53 of the 1968 Collection) NEW POST Here is Mike's 1968 Rainbow of Colors promotional Mustang in its original special order blue paint and a bit of primer. The door data tag reads: Body 63A Mustang 2-door fastback body style, Color blank special order paint (verified to be WT8095 in this case), Date 16B build scheduled for February 16 1968, DSO 710784 Los Angeles ordering district with special order number 0784, Axle 2 2.79 conventional rear axle, and Trans W C-4 select shift automatic transmission. 71 0784 has been linked to at least 2 other similarly painted, special order Mustangs. Here is one of them.
