(from page 22 of the 1966 Collection) Raven Black 1966 Shelby GT-350H Mustang fastback with a 306hp (at 6000rpm), 289 cubic inch, 4 barrel, V8 engine. 1000 of these black with gold stripe GT350 cars were purchased by Hertz as part of a promotion. This photo is available in two wallpaper sizes; 1024-683 wallpaper and 2400-1600 wallpaper.

(from page 38 of the 1966 Collection) Here is one of the Hertz Shelby GT500H advertisements from 1966. Yes, that is a blurry image. The GT350 is cook'n. It says, "There are only 1000 of these for rend in the entire world. Hertz has them all. It's the Shelby G.T.350-H. Only Hertz rents it. Cobra engine. Disc brakes. High speed wheels and tires. Stick shift or automatic. Rally stripes. High performance shocks. Torque controlled rear axle. The whole load. Why a rent-a-car with all this performance? We could have gotten a fleet of high-powered pseudo-sports-cars. But we figured you'd want to try a champion. Not just another imitation. So we got the one car that holds the Sports Car Club of America National Championship. And you can rent this 4-seater G.T.350-H from Hertz in most cities for a day. Or longer. But only from Hertz. Two stipulations. You have to be at least 25 years old. And you have to hurry. (It's all on a first-come-first-serve basis.) So make your reservation today. One local phone call reserves your car here. Or just about anywhere in the country. Call the only rent-a-car company that offers you a championship G.T.350-H."

(from page 38 of the 1966 Collection) This is the inside first page of the 1966 Hertz rental-car advertisement booklet for the Black with Gold striped Mustang Shelby GT350H that you could only rent at Hertz.

(from page 38 of the 1966 Collection) The Hertz Sports Car Club features the G.T. 350-H (The H is for Hertz) This exciting car is available for rental exclusively through Hertz in more than 60 cities coast to coast. The car is readily identifiable by its jet black body and vivid twin gold rally stripes from grille to rear bumper. These cars are available to business travelers who want a change of pace in motoring, by sports car owners away from home and by vacationers who consider driving an enjoyable holiday sport. Carrol Shelby, maker of the world-famous 1965 Manufacturer's Champion Cobra, took the Mustang Fastback and turned it into a high performance champion. First, he took the super-powered Ford 289 engine and "Cobra-ized" it... and he ended up with an unbelievable 306 charging horses. He redesigned the suspension geometry and came up with a car that handles with the ease of a street machine and the response-to-command of a competition car. There is an interesting note at the bottom that only the original renter of the car can drive it.

(from page 38 of the 1966 Collection) This page of the original Hertz rental brochure of the 1966 Mustang Shelby GT350H shows some of the differences between the standard Mustang and the GT350H.

(from page 38 of the 1966 Collection) The back page shows all the cities you could rent a 1966 Mustang Shelby GT350H.

(from page 44 of the 1966 Collection) This Raven Black 1966 Shelby GT-350 Hertz Mustang fastback was at the 2010 Mustang Club of America Grand Nationals held in the Seattle area of Washington. I waited most of the day to get these shots. It was cloudy most of the morning and then the hood was only partially opened. The gold stripes on this car were amazing. You could see them from a long ways off.

(from page 44 of the 1966 Collection) Close-up of the Magnum 500 wheels and G.T.350 H side stripe and graphics. The wheel center has a simple Hertz logo. I have seen others with a white or silver background with a black checkered pattern saying "Sports Car Club". See the Hertz brochure.

(from page 1 of the 2006 Collection) This is a 2006 Mustang Shelby GT-H Hertz coupe. Like the original GT-350H from 1966, this GT-500H features black and gold paint and they were only available new to the Hertz car rental agency. This is number 469 of 500 produced in 2006. Shelby Motors in Las Vegas took the stock 4.6L 3V V8 from the GT coupe and added an extra 25hp and 10lb-ft of torque.

(from page 1 of the 2006 Collection) Black and Gold 2006 Shelby GT-H Hertz coupe, left side view. Those are 17 inch wheels with P235/55ZR17 performance radials.

(from page 1 of the 2006 Collection) Black and Gold 2006 Shelby GT-H Hertz coupe, left rear view. It has the FR3 Racing Handling Package which adds lowering springs, strut tower brace, tuned dampers, sway bars, and a 3.55 rear end for quicker acceleration.

(from page 1 of the 2006 Collection) The engine is a 4.6 liter 325HP V8. It has the FR1 power pack which includes a 90mm cold air intake, performance calibration, cat-back performance exhaust, a special muffler kit, and an X-pipe similar to the one found on the GT500. A special tuned engine was also available on the 1966 version. Remember, this was only available at the Hertz rental car agency. It's hard to find a 1966 Hertz GT-H with the original engine as many were swapped out by the people who rented them. When was the last time they checked the engine when you returned a rental?

(from page 1 of the 2006 Collection) It has a black leather interior. The door sill plate has special Hertz badging.

(from page 1 of the 2006 Collection) Shelbys come with their own identification (CSM) numbers. This one is 06H0469. It is located in the engine compartment.
