(from page 9 of the 1967 Collection) Jason of Michigan brought this special Mustang in the rough back from Nebraska. He saw it a few years ago showing its unusual orange original paint here and there. Jason ran the VIN and door data code (65A blank 2A 16C 511913 0 W) and found it to be originally painted Aspen Red, ordered in the Denver area, and has filled in truck lid holes from a luggage rack. This all matches the local Denver special order Ski Country Special promotional package which was the winter version of High Country Special. This promotion featured 5 special order paints (Aspen Red being one of them), ski racks (trunk lid luggage rack), snow tires, and a Ski Country Special rear deck plaque. Jason hasn't found the original plaque but he's been able to confirm from other owners that this is a Ski Country Special. See the other photos in this set for glimpses of the original color and features.

(from page 9 of the 1967 Collection) Here is the front view with the grille, hood, and headlamps off. You can see the original paint behind the headlamps. Its very orange, but the Aspen Red of the Ski Country Special was an orange red. Hope the C-code, 289ci, 2-barrel, V8 is still in there.

(from page 9 of the 1967 Collection) The original color is very obvious inside the trunk.

(from page 10 of the 1967 Collection) Here is a rear view showing the black and gray of the repaint. Jason found evidence of filled in luggage mount holes in the underside of the trunk lid. The previous owner of another Ski Country Special says his Ski Country Special badge was on the trunk lid also.

(from page 10 of the 1967 Collection) Close-up of the head lamp and some of the original Aspen Red orange paint.

(from page 10 of the 1967 Collection) The orange red paint is also visible in the vent holes of the optional louvered hood where the black paint is pealing.

(from page 1 of the 1984 Collection) The hood is off. Time for some engine work.

(from page 2 of the 2006 Collection) Here's a shot of Max's 2006 Mustang GT during his front end rebuild.

(from page 14 of the 2008 Collection) Jason Horne is repairing this black 2008 Mustang Shelby GT-500 coupe. Jason explains, "I bought it from a previous owner. The car was hit by a trash truck and the right side was tore off. I got it put back together and am enjoying the hell out of it. Thank you Carroll Shelby for bringing back the Snake."

(from page 14 of the 2008 Collection) Jason is replacing the front bumper and grille as well.

(from page 14 of the 2008 Collection) The right side looks great. No damage here.
