(10 photos of a 1968 Gulfstream Aqua Blue Mustang Fastback) Gulfstream Aqua 1968 Mustang Cobra Jet with the GT package and "R" code 335hp(428ci) V8 engine. It is owned by Rick and Kim in Alabama. The "R" code is in the VIN number, see engine data. This car was also the "Attitude of the Week" for 9/9/07, see the photo used. When we posted this car in late 2007 it was in Missouri. Rick and Kim tell us, "We recently purchased this beautiful Mustang (in February 2012) and are looking for any available history about the vehicle. Your site says the owner in '07 was in Missouri. We know the Mustang was near London, Ontario (Canada) in December 2010, and then was sold to us from Alabama. Where was the car before 2007, and where was it between 2007 and 2011? By the way, this beautiful Mustang needed a lot of work to get it both safe enough to drive, and running well. Nevertheless, it's definitely the real deal and we absolutely love it, despite the extra costs incurred since our purchase. Oh -- and it's NOT for sale! Lol"|
(5 photos of a 1968 Madagascar Orange Mustang Rainbow Of Colors Hardtop) This rare 1968 Madagascar Orange Mustang hardtop from the west coast Rainbow of Colors promotion is owned by Dale Olson of Rohnert Park, California. It was our Attitude Of The Week for December 28th, 2008. Dale writes, I got this car in 1990 and finished restoring it in 1996.
It was not show room quality, but it was a very nice car. For the entire time I've had it, I was misreading the data plate and didn't know exactly what the car was. Even few years ago I did search on internet of Orange 68 Mustang, and got nothing. Just within the past few weeks I finally
found out the car was a part of the Rainbow Mustang promotion of 68
and 69. I don't have the original engine in it because when I got the
car someone had put a straight six in it. I also had a 67 mustang with
a 289 4v that was usable so I rebuilt it. Also no longer have the C4
automatic for it. I put in the Ford design 4 speed (RUG-E2), but no
modifications other than bolt-ons. The car only has 23,000
miles on it since restoring it, but due to it sitting outside in the
weather, it needs to be completely restored again (except the
engine, transmission, and rear end). We've included some scanned in photos after its first restoration in 1996, hopefully Dale can get us more in the future. Also take a look at our Rainbow of Colors special information page to see what we believe all 13 colors from the Rainbow of Colors promotion looked like along with photos of other Rainbow of Colors cars.

His wife had a hard time driving a straight drive. I had just turned 16 and gotten my 1st car - a 1965 2+2 fastback 289 auto. My brother's wife asked me if I would trade my car for the Shelby. I didn't hesitate and I've had it ever since. I had no ideal it was the 1st 68 GT-350 convertible made until Peter Disher from www.thecoralsnake.com did the an article on the car. Needless to say it's a special car to me." Peter Disher discovered that Shelby's first four conversions on 1968 Mustangs where Hertz show cars - a GT350 convertible, GT350 fastback, GT500 convertible, and a GT500 fastback.
