The Saleen serial number tag this as the 199th Saleen assembled. Reports say that only 190 hatchbacks and 11 convertibles were converted by Saleen. This ID plaque is found on the dash in the center below the radio.

The Mustang 1986 T-code 200hp (at 5000rpm), 2.3 liter (140 cubic inch), single-overhead cam, turbocharged, inline-4 cylinder engine. In 1986 the EEC-IV computer was programmed to be more conservative to boost fuel efficiency resulting in a lost of a few horse power over the previous year.

Black 1986 Mustang Saleen fastback owned by Mike Charles from Grove City, Ohio. Mike did a complete restoration on this car. It took him two years. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week photo for the week starting November 29, 2009. This car still has it's original 302ci V8 under the hood. Only 201 Saleens we produced in 1986. Most of them, 190, were hatchbacks. They only came in black, red, white, and blue.
