The first White Mustang was introduced the first year of Mustang production in 1964. White is pretty much White, but there were two whites introduced in 1964, Pace Car White and Performance White. The Pace Car White was reserved for the 1964 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car replica special model. There were 71 offerings of White paint in 60 of the 60 production years of the Mustang. White Featured Mustangs

There were several white featured Mustang special models.

Pace Car White 1964 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Replicas

185 Pace Car White Indianapolis 500 Pace Car replicas were sold in 1964 to the public. Not just any dealer could sell them though. They had to compete for them! The competition, called "Checkered Flag" and "Green Flag" contests, were based on the dealer's sales performance prior to the introduction of the Mustang in April of 1964. The top five dealerships in each district received a Pace Car replica. This car was won by Bennett Ford in Salt Lake City, Utah. The pace cars are all sequentially numbered (VIN) between 111500-126000. They have the same dataplate codes; 65A=hardtop, C=Pace Car White paint, 42=white & blue interior. Many were sold to customers with the stripes and lettering removed. Thirty-seven Wimbledon White 1964 Mustang Pace Car convertibles were created for the actual Indianapolis 500 race. Three of them were modified to be actual pace cars (4-speed transmission, tuned 289ci engines, lowered suspension, and speed rated tires). Another thirty-five convertibles with red, white, or blue interiors were used as Dignitary Cars. They were auctioned to dealerships and sold to the public after the race event.

Wimbledon White 1965 Shelby GT350 Mustang

1965 was the first year of the Shelby GT350 offered only in Wimbledon White with blue 10 inch wide racing "LeMans" stripes. Shelby American modified a lot of Wimbledon White fastbacks directly from the San Jose factory with the 271hp(289ci, V8) engine. Engine modifications boost its performance up to 306hp with a Cobra aluminum high rise intake manifold, 715cfm Holley four-barrel carburetor, Cobra cast aluminum finned valve covers and 6.5 quart oil pan, steel tubing "Try-Y" exhaust headers, low restriction mufflers, and dual side-exit exhaust pipes. Body modifications included a fiberglass hood with NASCAR-style pins and functional scoop, a cleaned up grille with a Mustang logo which will become the 1969 Mustang standard. Interior modification included a high performance instrumented dash, a collection of different wooden steering wheels, removing the back seats and placing the spare tire there to classify it as a SCCA racing series sports car, and many others.

Wimbledon White and blue 1965-68 Player's Mustang

The Wimbledon White and blue Mustang Player's special edition hardtop was given out as a prize by Player's tobacco company in Canada between 1965 and 1968. These Mustangs were painted blue and white to match the Player's cigarette package. All models were hardtops, had this special blue and white exterior paint, 200ci 6-cylinder engine, full wheel covers, and an AM radio. The promotion was run as Mustang-A-Week contests in many Providences in Canada.

White 1972 Mustang Sprint

The 1972 Mustang Sprint was created to promote the 1972 Olympics and to participate in the Washington DC Cherry Blossom Parade. All Sprints were painted White with blue and red accents. There were over 6200 Sprint hardtops, 800 Sprint fastbacks, and 50 Sprint convertibles built. They came with two different Sprint Decor options. The "A" Sprint package defined the white paint with red and blue accents, color matched seats and carpets, white wall tires, and the 1972 Olympic flag decal on the rear fender. The "B" Sprint package added mag-type wheels to the "A" option list.

Oxford White 1984 GT350 20th Anniversary Mustang

Available only in Oxford White with a red lower rocker panel stripe, the 1984 Mustang G.T.350 special model commemorated the Mustang's 20th anniversary. The 1984 Mustang GT 350 came with the largest engine offered in 1984; a 175hp (at 4000rpm), 5.0 liter (302 cubic inch), 4 barrel, high output V8. No-one at Ford asked Shelby's permission to use the "GT350" name. Shelby sued Ford for this infringement.

Oxford White 1985 Twister II Mustang
(diecast model shown above)

Offered in Oxford White, two shades of red, and maybe silver; the 1985 Twister Special Mustang sported black side stripes and Twister II lettering as well as a black striped hood with a hood scoop. The Twister was only offered in the Kansas area and could be ordered with on any GT (convertible or hatchback) with any GT options. The Twister was first offered in 1970 but only came on the Mach 1 in Grabber orange, and in 2008 as an aftermarket Grabber Orange GT upgrade; but both in the Kansas area only.

Crystal White 1995 Cobra R Mustang

Although available on all 1995 Mustang, Crystal White was the only color for the 1995 Cobra R coupe. Ford only made 250 Cobras in 1995. The Cobra R had a huge 5.8L (351 cubic inch) V8 under the hood! This engine is so big that the standard hood did not work. A special taller fiberglass hood was created. It has a factory 20-gallon fuel cell, a engine oil cooler, and a power steering cooler. All Cobra R Mustangs were painted Crystal White and had tan colored interiors.

Performance White 2005 Yankees Mustang Limited Edition Mustang

Sixty Performance White with blue pin stripe Yankees Mustang Limited Edition convertibles where created by Ford in 2005. One was given to most of the 62 Ford Tri-State Dealers in the New York area. Did these cars help the Yankees in their 103rd baseball season in 2005? The team finished with a record of 95-67 finishing in a division tie with the Boston Red Sox. They then went on to loose to the Los Angeles Angels in the play-offs.

Performance White Warriors In Pink 2008-09 Mustang

Performance White is one of three colors available on the 2008-2009 Warriors In Pink special edition V6 coupe or convertible. Special pink accents include a low pink Mustang side stripe, pink ribbon behind the pony logo on the side, pink seat piping, and other pink stitching and accents. The Warriors In Pink option is also available in silver metallic, or black exterior paints.

Wimbledon White 2015 50th Anniversary Mustang GT

Wimbledon White is an exclusive color for the 50th Anniversary Mustang GT. Another exclusive color is Kona Blue. The limited Edition Mustang GT coupe has the performance pack, 50th Anniversary badges, extra exterior chrome, upgraded interior, and cool layered glass rear-quarter "louvered" windows.

Platinum 2017 Black Shadow Edition Mustang

Platinum White along with Triple Yellow, Race Red, or Grabber Blue paint are the only colors available on the 2017, European, Black Shadow Edition fastback. It features; a black Pony emblem for the GT grille, exclusive black 19-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels, dissolve-effect black stripes along the prominent bonnet bulge ridges and across the body-side between the lower wheel arches, and black 5.0-litre badges on the front wings.

White? 1968 Cardinal Special Mustang

One special model Mustang we are working on is the rumored 1968 Virginia and North Carolina White with red interior Cardinal Edition Mustang. It has been documented that a Cardinal Red Cardinal Edition Mustang exists but the white version may have come from this advertisement showing what appears to be a lighter colored version of the car. We think a black and white graphic of the red version was just lightened by the print setter prior to printing the newspaper so that the car features stood out.
