Modified 1976 Mustang 302ci V8 Engine Rebuilt and modified 302 cubic inch, V8 engine.

Green 1976 Mutang II Green 1976 Mustang II notchback owned by Sandra Britton from, Morrisville Pennsylvania. Sandra tells us that its a V8 conversion 347 striker 417 up 400 ft pounds of torque, 380 gears C4 with a shift kit, 15" centerlines 8 and a half wide in the back.
V8 Engine Under the hood is this 347 striker.

White 1976 Mustang Cobra II Hatchback White 1976 Mustang Cobra II hatchback with blue cobra stripes and a blue interior. Under hood is the big 5.0l (302ci) V8 engine. This engine put out 134 horsepower and was the biggest of three engines offered on the 1976 Mustang II model.
White 1976 Mustang Cobra II Hatchback White 1976 Mustang Cobra II hatchback, left side view. There is a V8 emblem on the front fender, just ahead of the wheel opening. After posting a couple of these to the site, I'm starting to notice them on the road. I saw a similar one with orange stripes yesterday parked in front of a paint and body shop one town over.
White 1976 Mustang Cobra II Hatchback White 1976 Mustang Cobra II hatchback, rear end view. The stripes go right over the spoiler, skip over the rear taillight panel, and pick up again on the lower side of the bumper.
1976 Mustang Cobra II Engine You had your choice of three engine in 1976. Each could be had with the Cobra II option. This is the 5.0L 302ci V8. You could also get a 6-cylinder or a 4-cylinder engine.
White 1976 Mustang Cobra II Interior This 1976 Cobra II has a blue interior and a floor-shifted manual transmission. That is a snake shifter knob. Check out a better view in the next shot.
Cobra Shift Knob Check out the cobra shift knob. I wonder if the eyes light up at night? This one has an 8-track tape player. They called them 8-tracks because there were 4 stereo track sets on a continuous loop of tape. The tape deck could sense when it reached the splice in the tape and would switch to the next pair of tracks. You could also manually switch to another track pair. It was real annoying when the tracks would switch mid song.
1976 Mustang Cobra II Door Tag This data sticker is found on the rear edge of the driver's side door. It shows that the Cobra II was built in May 1976. It's color was 9D for white. The trim G is for the Picardy cloth and Corinthian vinyl seats while the B is the blue color. The trans 6 is for the 4-speed manual transmission. The Axle 6 is for the 3.00 rear. The ordering district is 55 for St. Louis.
1976 Mustang Cobra II Body Tag Here is the body tag for this 1976 Mustang Cobra II hatchback. It has the last digits of the VIN 227090 The F is for the Dearborn, Michigan assembly plant. 69F is the hatchback body style. Not sure about the 020. The 9D is the white paint. Not sure about the rest. I see a V8 in there - I bet that is the engine.
1976 Mustang Cobra II VIN The VIN tag is located on the dash and can be seen through the front window.

Black 1976 Mustang II Black 1976 Mustang II Ghia (with Stallion option) owned by Mark Williford from Beaumont, Texas. It has its original 5.0L 302 V8 and an automatic transmission. Mark adds, "This show car Mustang II Ghia was Lee Iacocco's comeback car that transitioned the Mustang back from the Muscle Mach 1s to the classic compact sports car of today's Mustangs.

Although repainted from its original Silver Metallic, the vehicle has a mirror gloss black paint that allows the trim chrome molding to accent the custom chrome rims. The vinyl landau Italian styled covering is in excellent condition with no fading, rips or tears and fits like a glove over the roof. Chrome trim lines accent and highlight iconic 70s opera windows.

Hand painted precision cranberry pin stripes compliment the interior and contrast nicely with the car's paint. This Ghia sports the Stallion Group Package features a rare Ford Mustang hood ornament in place of the grilled galloping pony. (grille has mounting bracket for the Pony).

Excellent cranberry interior with front bucket seats, headrest and rear seating are in excellent condition. The seating has no rips, tears or seat fading. Excellent dash with no rips, tears or fading sport the dial tach and speedometer. Classic digital flip clock does not work. Radio works and has the old school look that brings back great memories of the Bee Gees and George Jones. Baked steering wheel has slight fracture within hand control portion of wheel. This aesthetic defect does not impair or affect the steering mechanism. Steering is tight and straight with excellent power steering. Oversized custom chrome rims and wheels will rub inside fenders on tight turns and does make tight turns a challenge.

Car has working sunroof with classic working chrome hand crank and slide covering. Original owners manual and original 13 inch steel rim spare with white wall tire looks brand new. AC blows cold as was modified to accept new refrigerant. Engine runs solid with radiator showing minor signs of rust near top.

Car has solid automatic transmission, brakes, and power steering with 90% of all hoses replaced with recently replaced the thermostat. I have experienced the AC fuse blowing (was incorrect amp) but no problem after correcting.

Although this classic Detroit built 302 CID 5.OL V8 is a gas guzzler getting about 15 MPG, it's a solid powerful engine with a small head gasket oil leak developing. I purchased this vehicle from a successful Dentist who purchased it from the original owner. The paint, interior and AC work was done a great expense by the former owner (Dentist).

By adding 13 inch steel rims and original hubcaps and white walls and an air intake snorkel, it could easily transition into an excellent show car. Has potential to make a great muscle car with the right modifications. Contact me for transition of title as Texas requires signatures. I can assist in coordinating a delivery service. All shipping fees are responsibility of buyer. The manufacturer's sticker shows the car was manufactured in Dearborn, MI and is an original hard top Ghia. My Research shows only 37,515 of Iacocca's and Hal Sperlich's inspired (who played a major role in the original Mustang) Ghia's were manufactured."
