Springtime Yellow 1965 Mustang GT Fastback Springtime Yellow 1965 Mustang GT fastback with steel styled wheels, grille mounted fog lamps, metal rocker panel trim, and a 238ci V8 engine under the good. I photographed this car at the 2010 MCA Grand Nationals in Bellevue, Washington.
V8 engine There were three 289ci V8's available for the Mustang in 1965, a C-code 2-barrel, A-code 4-barrel, and a K-code high performance 4-barrel. The horsepower ratings were 200, 225, and 271hp respectively. This is either the C or A code version since there no "high performance" written under the 289 on the red/orange air filter sticker (it says "Cubic Inch" on this one).

1965 Mustang Ad Magazine ad featuring a Caspian Blue 1965 Mustang hardtop. It is titled, "Desmond was afraid to let the cat out... until he got his Mustang." It goes on to say, "Mustang! A car to make weak men strong, strong men invincible." According to the ad, Desmond here was able to trade his cat for a girl after getting a Mustang.

Wimbledon White 1965 Shelby Ford Mustang GT350 Although technically serial number 003, this Shelby Ford Mustang GT350 was the first unit completed and was used in publicity photos for the upcoming line of customized vehicles. Serial numbers 001 and 002 were completed later and were race versions. In 1979, this car was restored as a race car and raced. It was later discovered that it was originally built as the first street GT350. It will be restored to its original condition. We photographed this amazing car at the 2010 Mustang Club of America Grand Nationals car show held in Bellevue, Washington; and was our Attitude Of The Week for the week starting February 27th, 2011.
