Yellow Mustangs at MustangAttitude.com

The first yellow Mustang was introduced the first year of Mustang production in 1964. Two shades of yellow were introduced in 1964: Sunlight Yellow and Phoenician Yellow. There were 57 offerings of Yellow in 38 of the 47 production years of the Mustang. We have excluded all yellow greens and most golds from this list but included all gold yellow paints as named by Ford or are very obviously yellow. Yellow greens appear in our green Mustang page, and gold appears in our gold Mustang page. We don't consider Grabber Orange as yellow, see our Orange special color page or our Grabber Paint page for more information on Grabber Orange. Sunlight Yellow

Phoenician Yellow

There were a few yellow featured Mustang special models. These models either only came in yellow or in a special shade of yellow.

Aspen Gold 1966 and 1967 High Country Special

Aspen Gold is a yellow which was one of three special colors for the Colorado area High Country Special promotional Mustang for 1966 and 1967. The High Country Special had several sport options including a 6 cylinder or V8 engine, wire or regular wheels, and a special blue fender High Country Special badge. The other two special colors were Columbine Blue and Timberline Green.

Breckenridge Yellow 1967 Ski Country Special

Brechenridge Yellow was one of five special colors for the Denver area 1967 Ski Country Special which featured ski racks (rear decklid luggage rack), snow tires, equalock rear axle, and a Ski Country Special medallion. The 1967 Ski Country Special was a winter version of the Denver 1967 High Country Special. Other colors for the Ski Country Special included Aspen Red, Vail Blue, Winter Park Turquoise, and Loveland Green. See our 1967 data explorer to see the all the Ski Country Special colors first compiled by MustangAttitude.com.

1967 Corporate Yellow Mustang

Although a standard color for the 1968 Shelby Mustang, Corporate Yellow was a special order color available on all standard 1968 Mustang hardtops, fastbacks, and convertibles. In later years Corporate Yellow was renamed Grabber Yellow and became a standard color.

Dandelion Yellow and Whipped Cream 1968-69 Rainbow of Colors Mustang

Dandelion Yellow and Whipped Cream (rumored to be a little green) are two yellows of 13 special factory colors featured in the 1968 and 1968 Rainbow of colors promotion. Some of these colors were Madagascar Orange, Whipped Cream, Spanish Gold, Dandelion Yellow, Hot Pink, Caribbean Coral, Forest Green, Sierra Blue, and Moss Green.

1969 Grabber Yellow Shelby Mustang

Grabber Yellow was first offically used on the Shelby Mustang in 1969 and 1970. After that it was used on the standard production Mustangs in 1971. The 1969 Shelby Mustang came in two models: the GT350 and GT500. All GT-350s got Ford's new 290hp, 351 cubic inch V8; while the GT-500s got the 1968 GT-500 335hp, 428 cubic inch, Cobra Jet V8. In the fall of 1969 Shelby decided to stop making Shelby GT and the remaining unbuilt stock of about 789 cars were sold as the 1970 Shelby. Rumors are the Grabber Yellow is the same shade as 1967 Bright Yellow special order paint, 1968 Corporate Yellow special order paint, and 1970 Competition Yellow standard paint option. See our 1969 Shelby Mustang data explorer for more information on this special model. Also check out our special Grabber Paint page for more information on all the Mustang Grabber Paints.
