They were mechanically identical to the 2003 Mustangs due to Ford's engineers working overtime on the new 2005 Mustang body style. Two new colors were available in 2004 - Competition Orange and a new shade of Yellow called Screaming Yellow (replacing the Zinc Yellow). The V6 and GT models were available in the standard, deluxe (add leather steering wheel and power driver's seat), and premium (add speed control, colored floor mats, and a truck lid spoiler).
