This is a 1:18 scale, Ertl, die-cast metal, model of a Grabber Blue 1970 Mustang Sidewinder special Mustang. This promotion should not be confused with the 1970 Twister Special. David Charlier has collected a lot of information on this special along with photos and information on many of the roughly 40 built. Coming in any color, most striking feature of this car is the rear fender Sidewinder graphic of a snake with wheels.

Grabber Orange 1970 Mustang Sidewinder fastback. This is one of seven that are known to exist. This one has a rebuilt 351 4V Cleveland engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. Check out the awesome sidewinder snake graphic on the rear fender.

Charles Gabus Ford in Des Moines, Iowa had a bran new 1970 Mustang Sidewinder on their lot! It was advertised as having a 351ci 4V engine, power steering, competition suspension, traction lock differential, and a shaker hood scoop. This ad is from the January 1, 1971 edition of the Des Moines Register. They had it discounted to $3237.00 from $3685.70. That's a 12% discount! Someone got a great deal! Charles Gabus Ford was running a sale to reduce inventory on their 1970 models.
