- B/J says the car was special ordered by a lady in Altamonte Springs, Florida. I am 110% positive THIS car was on the outside showroom of Ray Hunt Ford (now Kelly Ford) in Melbourne, Florida in the early months of 1973, possibly May. MY Mom ALMOST bought the car, but backed out when she found out that it DID NOT have FACTORY a/c!! (It now sports a 'dealer installed' a/c) THATS how I am 110% positive that its the same car, and BTW the car DID NOT have the NASA hood or the RED top originally, the top was White! AND to top it all off back in 2011 at the Mecum auction in Kissemmee, Florida I ran into a guy who was selling a nice '66 GT convertible and while we were talking Mustangs he told me that HE had restored the car-found in Alabama pretty rusty and painted Red. The car was featured in Mustang Monthly some years back. I showed it to my Mom and she couldn't believe it - said she regretted not buying it back in 1973!/li>
