(6 photos of a 1967 Wimbledon White Mustang GT GTA Hardtop) Wimbledon White 1967 Mustang GTA hardtop owned by Rob Golley from Tasmania, Australia. It has the 396ci V8 engine and the automatic transmission. The 'A' in GTA is for the GT with the Automatic transmission. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting September 21, 2014. Rob tells us more, "I purchased this great S code genuine GTA in Wimbledon White with lovely 2D classic red interior. The original engine has been fully rebuilt and upgraded by FE Specialties who specialize in these big blocks. Bored to 396 ci, balanced, blue printed, bench run-in, and tuned. Comp CamShelby Hi rise manifold, ported and matched,650 Holly, Petronix 11. electronic ignition, ceramic coated try headers, polished Holly fuel pump, chrome rocker covers and air cleaner, twin exhaust system with free flow mufflers, 4 row radiator to keep all cool. The engine bay was stripped, painted, and detailed during the engine rebuild. The interior was completely retrimmed throughout with new seat cushions etc. new dash
bezel and Green LCD leash lights when fitted inside the original blue dash light covers a lovely blue light is produced. Much easier to see the dash. Dash being Genuine GTA with Equipment Group option also has 6000 RPM Tachometer and centre clock which has been now fitted with quartz movement for accurate time keeping. The original radio was FM radio which was replaced with a Classic Retro Sound Radio with Ipad/phone connectivity, blue tooth amp and 4 retro speakers two are in parcel shelf and two are concealed above the transmission tunnel facing down. This was a 11 hour custom fit and produces a superb but very loud classic sound. The front suspension has been renewed and fitted with all new components including comfort shocks and new marginally lower front springs. Rear springs have been reset, a new 5th leaf added, and again comfort shocks fitted. Outside is nice and straight Wimbledon White paint with all new chrome bumpers and bright work. New Scott Drake remote exterior drivers and passenger mirrors
have also been fitted. All glass is original with original optioned green tinted windows. Steering was the fast 16:1 ratio without power steering. Lots of feel on the road but was far was pleasant on our challenging drivers roads of Tasmania. Not wanting to change the essence or originality, the rack and pinion was passed up and an American Borgusen power steering 16:1 ratio was sourced along with a chrome Saginaw power steering pump and a full set of billet Aluminum double pulleys sourced from Summit Racing. New door rubbers and doors fully rebuilt with new window mechanisms, felt tracks and quarter vent rubbers, repinned door hinges and springs/cams. Work has started on full sound insulation (Resomat) throughout with only the trunk being completed to date. Full under carpet plus additional sound insulation will be undertaken shortly including inside of doors and under door panels to keep road noise and other noises confined to the outdoors. With Resomat it is expected that exterior noise will remain outside. New original styled wheels were ordered from the States in 15x7 for the front fitted with 225x60 and the rears with 235x60
BFG white letter tires. The remarkable Mustang is an absolute pleasure to drive and turns heads wherever it goes. It really is a classic muscle car and always work in progress which of course is great fun to work on."

This ad was placed by Rhodes Western Department Stores in the September 11th, 1966 edition of the Oakland Tribune of Oakland, California. Rhodes was a large, multifloor, department store in Oakland. It is now a Museum.

Mustang Blazer! Hardtop favorite - different in a very special way from all other Mustang Hardtops! Lime Gold body, black top. Personal nameplate inside, Blazer nameplate outside. Built for this area only. Don't wait - order now! Optional - choice of V8 engines, new 2-way cruise-o-matic Drive. And all this for $2451.46. We are the first to show you this series of newspaper articles from the Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio area featuring a newly discovered 1967 Mustang Limited Edition called the "Mustang Blazer". We found many advertisements in local newspapers from mid November through mid December 1966. All of them featured women; therefore, we think this limited edition Mustang was designed more for women. This advertisement was placed by several dealerships: Grantsville Motor Service, Gratton Ford, Shaffer Ford, Kowell Ford, and Jim Beamer Ford in the November 11th edition of the Cumberland Evening Times of Cumberland, Maryland. The Blazer option was also on the Ford Galaxie 500.

The colors may have been the three new revved-up shades of Tussy lipstick: Racy Pink, Shimmery Racy Pink Frosted, and Defroster. This ad is from the September 1966 edition of the Seventeen magazine. The date of this ad may explain the use of a 1966 Mustang in the photos.

"Nicely, but not fully restored. Very nice mustang in great condition. New paint job right down to the sheet metal. No body rust. Most interior components, body trim, engine components, suspension and exhaust are new. New tires and rims."

It seems to have the same Colt emblems as the 1966 and 1968 version - see the next photo. The car has a dealer emblem from Les McLane in York, Pennsylvania. A site visitor found this photo. We are attempting to contact the owner. Do you know anything about this car?
(7 photos of a 1967 Bluebonnet Mustang Lone Star Limited Hardtop) This is a 1:64 scale 1967 Lone Star Limited Mustang model built by Greenlight in 2008. The light blue color is a match for the Texas state flower called the bluebonnet. The cars were a territorial special for Texas just as the High Country Special was for Denver and the California Special for California. All 175 Blue Bonnet Special Mustangs where hardtops, had the sprint options package, blue luxury interior, steel styled wheels, with a 200ci in-line six or 289ci V8, and had a gold Lone Star Limited fender badge.

Mecum of Chicago, October 24-26, 2019. Ann Goodro of William Goodro Inc in Denver created this special edition Mustang after ordering the most Country Special Mustangs at the time. The She Country special came in three other colors as well (Bermuda Sand, Autumn Sand, and Limelite). This is a time capsule and is in amazing condition.

another Mustang owner at the show who says it will be repaired and customized for next year's show.

This car is missing its truck top mounted luggage rack, but it does have a rear mounted Ski Country Special badge. Check out all the photos.
(13 photos of a 1967 Burnt Amber Brown Mustang Branded Hardtop) This is a "Branded" 1967 Mustang hardtop. This one is owned by Fran Cosentino. Branded edition Mustangs were created by dealerships on mostly used 65-68 Mustangs to spiff them up for resale. The Branding kit was available from Ford. The kit included choice of colored vinyl tops (in 15 colors), side stripes (in 5 colors), quarter panel chrome, and special Branded emblems. This one has three of those items. It has the typical round "Branded" emblem on the vinyl top behind the side rear quarter window. It has a special shield shaped "Branded ID" emblem on the front fender - up near the triangle vent window. Fran, the owner, knows a whole bunch more. Here's what he had to say,
"Being a Branded Mustang owner, here is what I know(or think I know)....
The Branded Mustang Kit was introduced in late 67-early 68(model year). The kit was used by dealers on new and used Mustang coupes. It could also be ordered for 65-66 coupes. The kit was was distributed by DSI Corp., Plymouth, Mich. directly to Ford Dealers. It consisted of:
1. Pre-cut, hand-sewn vinyl top - 15 different colors or patterns
2. Two black and brass or silver and black C-pillar emblems - marked left and right
3. Left and right Screw-On quarter moldings - with Ford part numbers
4. Pre-cut "Thoroughbred" stripes in five colors (Red, white, black, blue, gold)
5. Two cans of Mastic glue
6. Ford instruction guide
This all came in a 3 foot long shipping tube from DSI.
I have six complete kits with five still in their original shipping tubes. Two are 65-66 and the rest are 67-68. the tops are all different and range from 'pretty cool' to 'butt ugly'. Keep in mind - It was the 60s. I also have stripes in red, white and gold.
I have instructions, Thoroughbred stripe identification charts, order form, invoices from DSI, a copy of an introduction ad in a dealer publication, and a copy of an ad in the Washington Post, July 17, 1968 introducing Shelton Ford's exclusive "California Mod Mustang". It's a Branded kit without the emblems. I also have a pair of promotional Branded cuff links."

What did we keep? The standards that made Mustang a classic in the first place... standards that won the hearts of almost a million-and-a-half owners in under three years. Those owners (and many more) have taken the Mustang Pledge... because of standard features like bucket seats and full carpeting. Floor-mounted shift. All-vinyl trim. Lithe performance and handling. And most particularly we kept the classic long, lean, adventurous look - of Mustang, the original.
