(from page 34 of the 1965 Collection) There where three 289ci V8 offerings in 1965. This is either the 2-barrel or 4-barrel version, cannot tell which. Maybe you can. Post a comment below.

(from page 38 of the 1965 Collection) There were three 289ci V8's available for the Mustang in 1965, a C-code 2-barrel, A-code 4-barrel, and a K-code high performance 4-barrel. The horsepower ratings were 200, 225, and 271hp respectively. This is either the C or A code version since there no "high performance" written under the 289 on the red/orange air filter sticker (it says "Cubic Inch" on this one).

(from page 38 of the 1965 Collection) There is some custom trim on this 289ci V8 engine. I like the FoMoCo windshield wiper fluid bag in the back of the photo.

(from page 38 of the 1965 Collection) View of the customized V8 engine and engine compartment which has some interesting bracing, chrome accents, all on a painted Tropical Turquoise background.

(from page 39 of the 1965 Collection) The customized 289 cubic inch V8 engine has lots of chrome on it.

(from page 39 of the 1965 Collection) View of the 1965, Ford, Mustang, A-code, 289 cubic inch, 4 valve, V8 engine with a bit of chrome added along with an extra brace.

(from page 39 of the 1965 Collection) View of the customized 289ci V8 engine. It seems to have some extra cooling lines, a air filter sensor, and other unique items.
