This is suppose to be a 1989 Saleen SSC engine. The Saleen factory SSC engines only came in the hatchbacks. This could have been converted afterwards. The SSC engine has 292hp (at 5200rpm). Saleen standard modifications included a 65mm throttle body, new intake plenum, larger cylinder head ports, wider rocker arm ratios, HD cooling system stainless tubular headers, and Walker Dynomax mufflers.

The ignition changes include MSD distributor, coil, 6AL (2 step), rev limiter; and Trick flow 10 mm plug wires. Fuel system changes include: Aeromotive fuel pump, a sump in gas tank, UPR fuel filter, JEGS fuel rails, Holley fuel regulator, and braided fuel lines.
