It has Magnum 500 wheels, color matched side mirrors, its original high back sport interior, and an F-code 302ci 2V V8 engine. I photographed this car at the 2010 Mustang car show in Port Angeles, Washington. That's a Medium Copper 73 Mustang sportsroof next door.

This car has silver stripes and a big 351ci engine, automatic transmission, air conditioning, factory forged wheels (still on the car), power steering and power disc brakes. It was special ordered with this paint right from the factory!

(from page 22 of the 1973 Collection) This is the yellow 1973 Mustang from the original Eleanor from the independent filmmaker H.B. "Toby" Halicki's 1974 film Gone in 60 Seconds. There were actually two Mustangs used in the film. One, this one was the "beauty" version which was used for up-close detail shots. The other was the "stunt" version which was fitted with a full roll cage along with many other safety and suspension modifications. The cars where really 1971 Mustangs fitted with 1973 trim. In the film, the main character stole 48 high end valuable cars in just days for a client. The most infamous would be this 1973 Mustang "Last of the Mustangs". It was considered important as it was the last of the Mustangs because the Mustang II arrives in 1974. That's Toby Halicki in the photo as he was the main character in the movie. This car is said to have been crushed after the movie according to Toby.

Additional options include: front and rear bumper guards and vinyl insert bodyside moldings.

It has the 2.8L V6 engine and an automatic transmission. Dale tells us more, "I purchased this from original owner in 2006, but blew a rod on drive back to Memphis! Replaced block before bringing home. Repainted August 2009. My wife had bought an original Mustang II in 1974 but it rusted out!"

3.5 of 5 mustang attitude3.5 of 5 mustang attitude3.5 of 5 mustang attitude3.5 of 5 mustang attitude3.5 of 5 mustang attitude Has viewer comments (from page 1 of the 1974 Collection) Dark Yellow Green 1974 Mustang II showing the standard 1974 hubcap which featured a galloping horse on a red background center medallion. This was the first year of the Mustang II which had a complete redesign which replaced the fastback with a hatchback. Although all the designs continued to have a long hood and short back deck.

(from page 1 of the 1974 Collection) This is a before/after photo of Craig Robertson's 1974 Mustang II notchback. It has a 302ci V8 and an automatic transmission. Craig says, "I bought this Mustang in 1984 as a car to drive to college. After the first year I drove it, the body was redone and it never saw another winter. After my kids were born, it was put away and is sitting in a barn waiting for them to finish college." It has been repainted to Medium Forest Gray. Here is his website. http://www3.sympatico.ca/craig.robertson1/

3.8 of 5 mustang attitude3.8 of 5 mustang attitude3.8 of 5 mustang attitude3.8 of 5 mustang attitude3.8 of 5 mustang attitude (from page 2 of the 1974 Collection) This Medium Copper (Chestnut) 1974 Mach 1 is owned by Bobby Aldrich and is our Attitude of the Week starting August 28, 2017. Bobby writes, I bought my 1974 Mustang Mach1 project car from Arnold Marks at Mustangs Etc. in Van Nuys, CA. in July of 2015. The car had been sitting with 152K and a broken off crank pulley bolt since 1986. I had the car shipped to me after seeing a few pictures of it. I love the original cooper color with tan interior. I like my cars some what stock looking. I found the engine was not original to the car and with all of the parts that were missing, I decided to added and delete options to make the car the way I would have ordered it in 1974. It had a 2.8L V6, C/4, A/C, P/S, PB and a 6 3/4" rear end with 3:55 gears. The options I chose were a 2.3L that gave you a $ 229 credit when ordered on the Mach 1. A 4 speed, PB, No A/C or P/S, a 8" rear end with 3:00 gears. Ford didn't offer 3:00 in 74 I just had to have the freeway gears, console, clock, deluxe door panels, rear sway bar and a AM FM 8 track stereo. I also added aftermarket rear window louvers. I've done all of the work on the car myself and made all of the changes the way they would have been done at the factory, I used all of the correct parts including wire harnesses. I used NOS and reproduction parts when I could find them and reconditioned used parts when I had to. 1974 Mustangs are even rare among Mustang II's in 2016. I have found the 1974's have many unique one year only parts. I will use the car for weekend driving and car shows along with my four other Mustang II's.
