It's owned by Dale from New Zealand. It was used in the 2007 New Zealand TV series 'The Hot House'. This car was just in a wedding - that's what the two streamers are from. Beige Mist looks gold in this shot. Check out the door jambs in the shot of the rear seats for a better view of the Beige Mist paint shade. Options include the 289ci V8 engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power convertible top, power disc brakes, and the exterior decor group (vented bonnet, pop off gas cap).

(from page 38 of the 1967 Collection) mustang Here is a new one! This is an advertisement of a 1967 Limited Edition 400 special model for the Chicagoland area only as it states. We have found several versions of this advertisement published in the Chicagoland area on December 8th, 1966. It says, Announcing a new Limited Edition Mustang. Only 400 people in the USA will be driving one of these special Mustangs (and they'll all be in the Chicagoland Area). Mustang Hardtop - Limited Edition 400, built for the Chicagoland area only! Specially painted in a distinctive, deep metallic gold. Special high-style trim and deluxe equipment includes: new automatic/manual SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic, radio, deluxe wheel covers, "breather" hood louvers with turn signal indicators, bright-metal moldings at wheel cutouts and rear deck lid, Limited Edition 400 emblem on fender, personal nameplate on instrument panel. Order now - when these are gone there won't be any more! We are not sure what the Limited Edition 400 fender emblem looks like but there is a drawing of the instrument panel nameplate. We found this ad for Bradshaw Ford in the December 8th, 1966, edition of the Blue Island Sun-Standard of Blue Island, Illinois. Blue Island is in the south part of Chicago. We've never heard of this special model before. If anyone has more information, let us know.

This car was at the 2010 Mustang Roundup held in Tampa, Florida.

This was originally a Sports Sprint optioned C-code 289ci V8 Mustang with rocker panel molding, power steering, wire wheel covers, white-sidewall tires, tinted glass, AM radio, and hood marker light. The owner has added a 302ci 4V V8 engine, fog lamps, custom steering wheel, new AM/FM radio with rear speaker, Humphugger console, seat head rests, power truck release, rear window defogger, dual exhaust, power brakes, deluxe interior trim, power antenna, electric clock, and has removed the rocker panel molding.

(from page 38 of the 1967 Collection) This ad was placed by Mainway Ford in the July 1967 edition of Canada Track & Traffic magazine. There were 8 of these cars built by Mainway Ford of Toronto, Canada which mixed Ford Mercury Cougar parts with the 1967 Mustang.

(from page 38 of the 1967 Collection) It's here! A new Texas Ford Dealer exclusive! It says, This specially built, custom-equipped Mustang Hardtop is a Lone Star exclusive. This Mustang has the deluxe wheel covers with spinners.

(from page 39 of the 1967 Collection) Could this be one of the Chicagoland 1967 Limited Edition 400 Mustangs? A viewer sent us this photo set of his Mustang with a non-standard gold paint under the later added white. It also has rear panel holes where a badge might have been. A Marti report might confirm more since the door data tag is missing due to a door replacement.

(from page 39 of the 1967 Collection) This is one of two advertisements we found for the Nebraska Centennial Special Hardtop Sports Sprint edition 1967 Mustang which included one of four "Special Centennial colors", 6-cylinder engine, white sidewall tires, full wheel covers, functional louvered hood, rocker panel moldings, chrome air cleaner, decal and vinyl covered shift lever (for automatic transmissions), and optional luggage rack. The four "Special Centennial colors" are named Centennial Blue, Lincoln Green, Summer Wheat, and Big Red. The advertisement shown has parts of a full page by O'Shea-Rogers Motor Co in the March 26th 1967 edition of the Lincoln Star Sun. See the third image for the complete ad. We have not found one of these Mustang's yet but would expect them to have a 6 digit DSO code staring with a 54 for the Omaha Nebraska ordering district and a blank paint code.

4.8 of 5 mustang attitude4.8 of 5 mustang attitude4.8 of 5 mustang attitude4.8 of 5 mustang attitude4.8 of 5 mustang attitude (from page 39 of the 1967 Collection) This is a one-off Wimbledon White 1967 Mustang Shelby GT-500 Super Snake prototype car. It was built by Shelby with the intentions of building more. But... it would be too expensive (2x that of the normal Shelby, and more than the 427 Cobra) for the public to purchase, so they only built one. This Shelby was placed on eBay back in 2008 for $3M, but did not sell. It did, however, sell in 2013 for $1.3M at a Mecum auction. (Photos are from Mecum). Why was it built? Many reasons. The GT500 was outselling the GT350 and Goodyear wanted a high speed event to advertise its new Thunderbolt tires. The engine was a 600hp 427ci from the GT40. The fog lights have special chrome surrounds and the blue LeMans stripes are unique.

(from page 40 of the 1967 Collection) This is a rare one. It's a 1967 Mustang Shelby GT-500 hardtop! It was the first and only one built by Shelby - called "Little Red". Although more 1967 hardtops where built by Shelby, it was the inspiration for the 1968 California Special. This GT-500 had twin Paxton Superchargers on a 428ci engine. It is reported to have been crushed as most prototypes were.

Only one built! It's a Candyapple Red 1967 Shelby GT-500 convertible. It's owned by Samantha and Brian Styles from Delray Beach, Florida. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting February 1, 2015. It has a 428ci V8 "Interceptor" engine and an automatic transmission. Shelby had intended to offer the GT350 and GT500 in all three body styles - six in all. Brian adds, "We just gained access to the Ford Special Orders (DSOs) and they confirm that Shelby American even went so far as to create "package" codes for each type of car. The convertible was package code "413C", meaning a GT500, Auto, AC, Smog, Convertible Body. Carroll claimed the convertible as his own personal car. About 4 months later, the car was needed for a new task. It was used to bolt on the A.O. Smith built '68 styled fiberglass designed by Ford. It was essentially disguised as a '68 for the purpose of taking photos -- a lot of photos. A couple Shelby employees referred to the car in the stage as a "68 styling proto," though there was actually nothing prototype about it. Nothing more than a model putting on a new dress for her walk down the runway." Check out the www.1967shelbyconvertible.com website for more information.

This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for March 2nd, 2008. Don has this extra information to share, "The car was found on the internet and purchased February 2004 from an exotic car dealer in the Seattle, Washington area. The photos I received with car indicated that the body work and paint were done in September 1997 and is still in very good shape. The engine bay and engine along with interior and floor pans were in pretty sad shape. The mileage at time of purchase was 54,243. Once the engine and tranny was pulled, the undercarriage was inspected completely. We found several modifications that led me to believe car had been extensively drag raced at one time. The right rear shock housing was pushed up and split in three areas. The trans linkage, clutch bracket and shifter had been modified. Since my purchase, the following work has been completed: interior gutted and replaced, dash repainted correct color and all dash pieces replaced, factory console replaced with a humphugger console, factory shifter replaced with a Hurst shifter, electrical gauges replaced with mechanical gauges, 390 engine replaced with a 428 Cobra Jet engine, grille replaced with correct GT/CS grille and Marchal fog lights, front and rear bumpers replaced, engine bay detailed, rearend rebuilt with new axles and 325:1 Posi w/traction bars, GT pop-open gas cap added, standard LED sequential tail lights from Mustang Project, and the driver's side floor pan and passenger side floor pans replaced along with left front torque box."

Its an Eastertime Coral 1968 April Color of the Month promotional Sprint Mustang hardtop owned by John of Michigan and was our featured Attitude Of The Week for July 13th, 2008. The Color of the Month was a promotion for the first four months of 1968 where special colors were connected to main holidays for special sales: Black Hills Gold paint for the New Year celebration in January, Passionate Pink for Valentine's day in February, Emerald Green for St. Patrick's day in March, and in this case Eastertime Coral for Easter in April. Imagine an Easter Collection of Colors sale showing Eastertime Coral Mustang next to a Seafoam Green, Meadowlark Yellow, and Diamond Blue 1968 standard factory color Mustangs; and a Passionate Pink Mustang left over from the Valentine's day, February color of the month. The Ford color number for Eastertime Coral was WT9012 (6779DH Dupont, 71617 Ditzler) and was also used for the Rainbow of Colors 1968-69 West coast promotion but called Caribbean Coral. See our 1968 data explorer and the 1968 Special Models page for more information on both of these promotions. We also have a larger 1024x768 pixel wallpaper of this car.
