(from page 4 of the 1971 Collection) Bright Red 1971 Mustang Spring Special Edition fastback owned by JT from Seattle, Washington. The Spring Edition added many of the Mach 1 and Boss appearance options. JT shares, "I purchased it from the original owner. It had been garaged mostly over the past two decades. He had to sell it because of his health - he is unable to drive. The plus side is that he lives two doors down from me and can visit anytime he wants. It is all original except for a AM/FM Cassette stereo installed sometime in the 1980s. I have had to do very little work to it except some minor paint and transmission maintenance. It was treated with care and well maintained. I have the original warranty card, owners manual and build sheet. I always wanted a 1st generation Mustang and while it is not a Mach 1 it is still very unique."

(from page 4 of the 1971 Collection) The Spring Edition had the Mach 1 bumper, Boss side stripes, grille mounted fog lamps, colored side mirrors, and black lower bodyside paint.

(from page 9 of the 1971 Collection) This is a 1971 advertisement for a Special Spring Value edition Mustang hardtop. The Special Spring Value edition has the color-matched front bumper from the 1971 Mach 1, side stripes of the 1971 Boss, and grille mounted fog lamps and color-keyed side mirrors of both. The ad says, For Spring Only. A Mustang of a New Stripe. You take a classic Mustang Hardtop. right? (That practical, comfortable, stylish variety.) And a sports-car hood - NASA-type scoops and all. Add dual racing mirrors. Color-keyed Spoiler bumper. A unique grille with sport lamps. Brighten the sides with Boss tape stripes. Oh yes, and wide tires with special trim rings. Then take a look a the special prices of the extras. You're home. Note: NASA-type scoops was Ford's renaming of the originally named NACA-type ducts used by the aerospace industry.

(from page 9 of the 1971 Collection) This is a newspaper advertisement for the 1971 Spring Special hardtop from the June 11th, 1971 edition of the Ottawa Herald of Ottawa, Kansas. See the next scans in this sequence for the entire version of this ad placed by Ray Brown Ford. This special spring package includes grille/sports lamps, color keyed front bumper (similar to the 1971 Mach 1), color keyed hood and fender moldings, NASA hood, black lower bodyside paint, dual color-keyed racing mirrors, trim rings, E70 WSW wide tires, and 1971 Boss bodyside tape stripe. And of course, all for the special price of $97 extra. This ad shows the renaming of the NACA-type hood ducts as a NASA-type hood, since this vent design was used in the aerospace industry.

(from page 11 of the 1998 Collection) This is a Chrome Yellow 1998 Mustang GT Spring Edition convertible. These special edition Mustang GT's came with special hood stripes and 17-inch wheels. The package was available in both coupe and convertible. The package re-appears in the 2000 model year. This particular one has custom side graphics added by the dealer.

(from page 11 of the 1998 Collection) Chrome Yellow 1998 Mustang GT Spring Edition convertible, right rear view. The black Mustang GT lettering on the rear bumper is not part of the Spring Edition package.

(from page 11 of the 1998 Collection) The standard 255hp 4.6L GT engine is under the hood. Check out the blue accent pinstripe around the Spring Edition black hood stripes that extend out onto the fenders.

(from page 11 of the 1998 Collection) The interior is black with leather seats. This one has two windshield pillar instrument pods. The top one shows the transmission temperature, the bottom one shows the air/fuel ratio.

(from page 11 of the 1998 Collection) Here is the original window sticker for this 1998 Spring Edition. The unique options are the black accent stripe and 17-inch wheels. The wheels just show up as the 17-inch tires. Standard equipment (off to the left in the Exterior group) is the 16-inch wheels. Since the 17-inch tires don't fit on the stock wheels, the correct ones must be assumed.

(from page 11 of the 1998 Collection) Check out this Bright Atlantic Blue 1998 Mustang GT Spring Edition owned by Jody Rusk. It is in amazing condition. Jody writes, Visited a friend to work on his computer and he had this for sale in his yard about 5 years ago. I wasn't looking for a vehicle but knew I had to have it, 80k miles, some repaint due to clear coat fade, but knew it was a unique model with 17 inch wheels and stripe. Leather, cruise, Mach sound system. Day I bought it fuel pump died, friend cut some slack on the price. Mods include BBK cold air intake and SCT chip and tuner. Love it!

(from page 11 of the 1998 Collection) Bright Atlantic Blue is one of my favorite colors. There was also a darker Atlantic Blue offered in 1998, but this color really stands out. Also those unique stripes are part of the 1998 Spring Edition Mustang.

(from page 11 of the 1998 Collection) Nice view of Jody's custom 4.6L V8 GT engine. Nice!!!
