(5 photos of a 1969 Winter Blue Mach 1 Mustang Fastback) Winter Blue 1969 Mustang Mach 1 with 360hp (at 5400rpm), 428 cubic inch, Super Cobra Jet V8 engine with Ram Air induction, a hardened steel cast crankshaft, special "LeMans" connection rods, and special balancing for drag racing. Hot Rod magazine called the Cobra Jet "the fastest running pure stock in the history of man." Only one engine was more powerful in 1969 and that was the 375hp (at 5200rpm), 429 cubic inch V8 engine for the Boss option. 1969 was the first and only early year the Mustang came with four headlights.

(7 photos of a 1969 Poppy Green Mach 1 Rainbow Of Colors / Gas Ronda Special Mustang Fastback) Peter Manson's restored Poppy Green, 1969, Rainbow of Colors, Super Cobra Jet, Mach 1 fastback was our Attitude of the Week for March 8th, 2008. This amazing Mach 1 was one of 10 ordered by Russ Davis Ford of Covina California to promote his dealership and most likely his racing cars. We actually have its sister on our site. Peter has done extensive research as well as restoration on his car. The Rainbow of Colors was a west coast 1968-69 sales promotion which offered new Mustang owners many sporty upgrades as well as one of 13 special order bright colors. Many of these cars were base models, but a few; like Peter's; were higher end models. New information on Russ Davis shows that this special order may have also been for a Gas Ronda racing promotion since the famous Cobra Jet racer was promoted by Russ Davis.

(6 photos of a 1969 Blue Mach 1 Mustang Fastback) This 1969 Mach 1 Mustang fastback was driven by drag racer, Jim McCormick. He set many NHRA records for the Fastest Factory Street Stock with this car. It ran 10 second quarter miles. The car still has the original engine and running gear used to set those records.

All numbers match on this one and it has Magnum 500 wheels, automatic transmission, and the F-code 302ci V8 engine. The 1969 Mustang Limited Edition 600 was a special spring 1969, promotion in the Philadelphia area. 508 cars were produced for this promotion which was 92 cars short of the 600 planned. The cars were available in either Flower Power Red (Ford special paint code WT5185) or Groovy Green (MX8241928). They came in both hardtop and fastback body styles, hood scoops, pin stripes, and many of the hardtops came with a black vinyl top. Each of the cars received a special Limited Edition 600 decal, which is located under the Mustang emblems on the front fenders.

(12 photos of a 1969 Special Yellow Mustang Fastback) Take a look at this vintage shot of John Farrace's 1969 Mustang fastback taken back in 1984 when the previous owner (shown) put it into storage. John says, "It pretty much looks the same today. I purchased the car from her grandson who received the car via her will." Here is the kicker... It was built at the San Jose plant under Los Angeles Ordering District under special order #0084 and the car has a special order paint WT6210. WT6120 is a bright yellow paint, in fact, it is the same paint that Caterpillar Inc. uses on it's earth moving equipment. John plans to send more photos when his restoration is complete.

(1 photo of a 1969 Pastel Gray Mach 1 Mustang Fastback) This amazing Pastel Gray 1969 Mustang Mach 1 fastback was part of Emmanuel Theux's collection in 2008 and is now in the north west of France. This Mach 1 has the H-code, 250hp, 351ci, V8 engine and is our Attitude Of The Week for May 10th, 2009. Emmanuel says that this car was sold new to a US Marine who had to return it to the dealer after having troubles with the payment. It was then sold to a Swiss man in 1970, who was living in the states. Emmanuel says he bought it and brought it to Switzerland then sold it in Geneva after owning it for a year in 2008. It is a very complete car, matching numbers with the original body buck tag in the engine compartment. Pastel Gray is so light that it is almost white; and this car looks great with its red Mach1 side stripe and black hood, front air dam, rear window louvers or sport slats, and rear spoiler.

(4 photos of a 1969 Wild Violet Purple Mustang Hardtop) Check out this Wild Violet 1969 Mustang hardtop from Tracey Russell from Adelaide, South Australia. Tracey tells us, "Growing up as a child with Grandparents who were founding members of the Studebaker Club in Western Australia, did a lot for my interest in American Classics. They also had service stations and I was always playing with dinky cars on a road mat/carpet. I fell in love with the 'pony car' at a young age and always said I would get one... come Mid Life Crisis and Woolahhhh There she is! Imported originally from the US to Queensland and restored from a Champagne Gold / Nugget Gold trim to the XY GT colour of Wild Violet. She appealed to me instantly and I fell in love. Purchased from South Australia by a girl who brought her from Qld and then I shipped her home to Western Australia. Joined the MOCWA and became a committee member and learnt more about the passion. Moved to SA in Nov 08 as the 'car scene' here is huge. Although missing the Motorplex and being in a drag crew for a '66 Stang... Racestang! So here we are two and a half years down the track and doing her up bit by bit. I have made a few modifications like mags, extractors, interior etc. - not to mention the odd mechanical hick ups of an ol' gal. But all in all I could never sell her even though she does turn heads being so WILD. So Wildstang and I are in love and my children are waiting for the day to fight over the ownership! hehe Drive safe and happy cruzin."

(9 photos of a 1969 Black Jade Green Mustang Convertible) Black Jade 1969 Mustang convertible with chrome styled steel wheels and a 210hp (at 4600rpm), 302 cubic inch, 2 barrel, V8 engine. Black jade was a color only available in 1970. It was a very dark shade of green - so dark that it looked black under low lighting. It was a very popular color, as nearly 10% of the Mustangs built in 1969 were Jade Green.
