The GT has the extra yellow driving lights in the front grille. Under the hood is the big 225hp V8 engine.

As far as I can tell, this was not an option in 1965. The rear window defogger (a blower unit) was a new option on the Mustang in 1968. The rear window defroster (heated wire units) was introduced as an option on the Mustang in 1971.

Kerry lists the options; 289ci 4v 275hp 'A' code V8 engine (rebuilt), GT rocker panel stripes, GT grille-mounted fog lamps , GT dual chrome exhaust, trumpet exhaust tips thru rear valance, left-hand (driver-side) remote mirror, right-hand (passenger-side) mirror, 5-dial instrument dash, Rally-Pac instrumentation (clock and tach pods), Deluxe steering, wheel (wood), push button radio and antenna, Pony interior, electric top, factory air, center console, and Styled Steel wheels (V8).

It has the A-code 289ci V8 4-barrel engine and a manual transmission. Paul wonders, "Built at Metuchen, NJ plant on 5/28/65. Could this be one of the first of the GTs? IT was built one month after they started offering the GT package."

It still has it's original 289 4V engine and an manual transmission. Reiny adds, "We bought this car in 1996 from the second owner. The first owner had the car for 29 years. We restored it in 1998/2001 to show condition. We have also the original window sticker. The car is a factory GT."

This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting February 3, 2013. It is a factory GT with a 289ci 4v engine. It has a bench seat. Eddie is the third owner. The car has a bit over 26,000 miles on the clock and has had only one repaint. The Ragoon Red 1965 Mustang hardtop is Eddie's as well.

This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting November 10, 2013. This Mustang has its original 289ci V8 and a manual transmission. Joe adds, "I bought this fastback 15 years ago and it was a rusted out mess. My wife and I just finished a total restoration. We did all the work on the car with exception of the engine rebuild. It is a 289 fastback with 4-speed top loader. We have attended six car shows so far and have won four."
