It's a little known fact that Ford did make a 2002 Cobra. They only made 100 units. All these were right-hand-drive and exported to Australia. You can just make out the steering wheel behind the windshield glare. Look behind the antenna.

The steering wheel is much easier to see in the picture. We now have 2 of the 100 units built. 98 more to find! Extra driving lights are cut into the front bumper for this Australian version.

Only 100 Cobras were built in 2002. All were sent to Australia. Gordon Cox owns this Zinc Yellow 2002 Cobra convertible. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting October 23, 2017. It has the 4.6L V8 engine and a manual transmission. Gordon tells us, "Owned six years, fitted lowered progressive rate springs and 10's and 9' rims. Believed to be one of only five Zinc Yellow 2002 Cobra convertibles in existence."

Sean Ison owns this Oxford White 2002 Cobra Mustang coupe. Jason say this one is all stock with only 30,000 miles on the clock.

The only Cobras available in 2002 were the 100 units converted to right-hand-drive and shipped to Australia. This is one of them! Exterior lighting regulations are different in Australia. Check out the extra running lights in the front bumper and orange reflector on the fender just behind the front wheels. The 2002 Cobra came with independent front and rear suspension, ventilated disc brakes with an ABS system, and these 17x8 inch factory alloy wheels.

Australia also required some changes to the taillights. Amber lenses are added to the bottom of the outer two taillights. US Mustangs do not have these.
(from page 7 of the 2002 Collection) Like the 2001 Cobra, the 2002 Australian Cobra has a V-code 4.6L 32-valve DOHC engine. It puts out 320 horsepower! The brake master cylinder is on the other side! See the filler cap off to the left by the strut tower? Compare to a left-hand-drive 2002 Mustang engine.
(from page 7 of the 2002 Collection) Check out this interior. It's a right-hand-drive. Yes, in Australia they drive on the wrong side of the road. This one has the 5-speed manual transmission. The pedal order on the floor is the same as a US car.

This one has the full Budweiser Racing Body Kit. This kit looks very similar to the 2000 Cobra R body kit. Those are 17 inch wheels. Like other 2002 Cobras, this one has an extra set of fog lights in the front and orange reflectors on the fender just above the Cobra emblem.
