Go as sporty as you like says the 1977 Ford Mustang promotional booklet showing a Polar White Cobra II with red over the top racing stripes, hood scoop, wire wheels, rear wing, blacked out front grille, front air dam, color matched side mirrors, and rear quarter window louvers. Early 1977 Cobras had the body side lettering low on the door, later in the year they were higher up. This photo indicates that this is the earlier 1977 Ford Promotional booklet. We also have the later version of this booklet showing the centered side stripes.

(10 photos of a 1978 Black Mustang Cobra II King Cobra Hatchback) This 1978 Mustang King Cobra is certainly the "Boss of the Mustang stable" as Ford described it. This King was also the Attitude Of The Week for 8-19-07. The King Cobra package came with a snake decal on the hood, unique pinstriping, custom spoiler, a 302 cid 5.0 liter V8, rear quarter flares, a black grille and moldings, color-keyed dual sport mirrors and lacy-spoke aluminum wheels with twin rings and a Cobra symbol on the hubs. This King Cobra has been repainted and is missing some of its pinstriping around the front and side windows.

Its owner says, "I bought the car in November 2008. The car had been in storage for many years. I put in a new correct 302ci long block and did other repairs from the car being in storage for so many years and not taken care of. I also have the Black and green 1980 Mustang Cobra." This car has a fresh coat of factory Oxford White and Shelby type blue stripes. The cobra hood and side graphics have been removed.

Bobby tells us, "I bought my King Cobra about two years ago and just finished restoring it. I found the King Cobra on Craigs List and just couldn't pass it up." This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting December 12, 2010. Gord adds, "I bought this car in 1991. It was white with red interior. The first thing I did was paint it black and add the gold Corba II tape kit. The interior was also switched to black. In 2002 the hood scoop was muraled by Guy Frechette of Ingleside and from that we decided to scallop the car and add the fender murals."

This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting December, 26, 2010. Mike tells us, "My Mom bought it brand new as a bright yellow V6 stick. I bought it from her in 83 and used it as a daily driver until about 86 when I stored it away. I started modding it up again in 03."

The original 302 block was cracked so the car now sports a mild 306 and T-5 transmission. It is equipped with factory T-tops, 4-way adjustable front seat, power steering and brakes, 15-inch wheels, dual 2.5 inch exhaust into a single 3-inch over the the rear, rear mounted battery, subframe connectors, SSM lift bars, and aftermarket Autometer gauges"

Bryan tells us more, "I got the car about eight months ago. I have been looking for this car 10 years and finally got it. It is an original Cobra II with 5.0. It had a 302 in it when I got it. It now has a 347 with 355 rear. I had this same car in high school and wanted another one. The car is really cool gets lots of looks."

It had a 302ci V8 and an automatic. George shares, "I had this Mustang back in 1979. It had the factory T-tops and the white painted wheels. I did put aftermarket 'Turbo Back' mags on it. I wish we had digital cameras back then but this is my only picture... sigh"

This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting August 27, 2018. Michale tells us, "Ihis is our 1978 Mustang II King Cobra. We have had it since the early 90s. This car has the pretty much stock 5.0L 302ci V8 engine. The only things that are not stock is a Street Dominater 4bbl intake and a Carter 600cft carb. This king has only 106k miles. One thins that makes the car a little more rare is that is has full cloth seats instead of cloth and vinyl."
