(from page 3 of the 1976 Collection) Here is a shot of that 1968 J-code 302ci 4V engine. Nice looking engine compartment!

(from page 4 of the 1976 Collection) This is not the original Z-code engine. This is a V8, could be the F-code 1976, 5.0 liter, V8 engine.

(from page 5 of the 1976 Collection) The engine is a late 67 factory 302ci V8 block.

(from page 6 of the 1976 Collection) Rebuilt and modified 302 cubic inch, V8 engine.

(from page 6 of the 1976 Collection) You had your choice of three engine in 1976. Each could be had with the Cobra II option. This is the 5.0L 302ci V8. You could also get a 6-cylinder or a 4-cylinder engine.

(from page 1 of the 1977 Collection) Under the hood is the original 302ci V8 engine. It was rated at 139 horsepower.

(from page 4 of the 1977 Collection) Check out the 302ci V8 under the hood.

(from page 5 of the 1977 Collection) Timothy adds, "The intake was leaking bad so I put an aftermarket intake and carb plate on it. I also cleaned up some of the wiring." Looks great!

(from page 5 of the 1977 Collection) Under the hood is a 1993 Cobra R 5.0L V8 engine.

Has viewer comments (from page 9 of the 1977 Collection) This Cobra II has the largest engine offered in 1977, a 302 cubic inch (5.0L), 2 barrel V8, rated at 134hp (at 4000rpm). This engine was not part of the Cobra II package.

(from page 4 of the 1978 Collection) The engine is the original 5.0L (302ci) V8. This engine was rated at 134 horsepower.

(from page 5 of the 1978 Collection) The 2 barrel 302 cubic inch V8 engine is rated 139hp (at 3600rpm).

(from page 5 of the 1978 Collection) Mike tells us about the engine, "It's a 347 stroker with too many mods to list mated up to a T5 with 3:55 track locks. It dyno'd 370 hp to the wheels and made 380 lbs trq. The first pull only made 320 hp - the carb cover on the CAI was starving the carb. Now I only put that on for shows, and even at that it ran a 12.8 at 112. I have no idea what it will run now."
