Jason of Michigan brought this special
Mustang in the rough back from Nebraska. He saw it a few years ago showing its unusual orange original paint here and there. Jason ran the VIN and door data code (65A
blank 2A 16C 511913 0 W) and found it to be originally painted Aspen Red, ordered in the Denver area, and has filled in truck lid holes from a luggage rack. This all matches the local Denver special order
Ski Country Special promotional package which was the winter version of High Country Special. This promotion featured
5 special order paints (Aspen Red being one of them), ski racks (trunk lid luggage rack), snow tires, and a Ski Country Special rear deck plaque. Jason hasn't found the original plaque but he's been able to confirm from other owners that this is a Ski Country Special. See the other photos in this set for glimpses of the original color and features.

Here is the front view with the grille, hood, and headlamps off. You can see the original paint behind the headlamps. Its very orange, but the Aspen Red of the Ski Country Special was an orange red. Hope the C-code, 289ci, 2-barrel, V8 is still in there.

Black 1967 Mustang hardtop owned by Jeremy Bumpus from Middleton, Tennessee. Jeremy shares,
"Started as a 6 cylinder no option car. It was in bad shape and had been rear ended. I decided it was a good project to modify. It sits on air ride suspension, Mustang II front end, back halved on a 2-link and panhard bar in the rear, new quarters. I shaved the drip rails, door handles, locks, quarter vents, trunk lock, antenna, gas cap. Filler worked and primed and blocked until laser straight. Chrome was taken down and color matched, PPG black, PPG clear. It has a 302 with e303 cam, roller rockers, forged pistons, T5 trans, Ford Explorer rear end narrowed 3", disk brakes all the way around, 18 and 20" rims, new original style interior, custom console, and the trunk is leather paneled."

This 1967 Mustang Shelby GT-500 was used in the 2005 release of the "Dukes of Hazzard" movie. This car was driven by the bad guy, Billy Prickett (played by James Roday), during the grand finale Hazzard rally road race. This car is really a regular Mustang cloned into a Shelby for the movie.

Another shot of "The Hogg" 1967 Shelby race car. The numbers "23" have been moved forward because there was a picture of "Boss Hogg" (played by Bert Reynolds) on the door. Check out the NASCAR style wheels. For the movie the headlights and taillights were covered with aluminum plates.

Here is the "Dukes of Hazzard", 2005 movie car at the 2010 Mustang Roundup car show in Bellevue, Washington. It is a 1967 Mustang fastback cloned into a GT500. Look back to the first photo of this car in California to see the dirt on the side 23 is the same, movie prop magic.

This amazing 1968 white vinyl top Mustang owned by Mal Hillier of Melbourne, Australia, has all the codes and special order color to be a Spanish Gold 1968 Rainbow of Colors West Coast promotional Mustang and was our
Attitude of the Week for April 26th, 2009. It was built in San Jose, ordered in Los Angeles, under a special order with special paint WT3822. Mal writes:
My Mustang was imported in to Australia from Los Angeles as a running car and I purchased it from an importer. I knew little about Mustangs and the hobby grew from there. The body and Paint have been refurbished and the color has been professionally matched to the original color in the trunk. Body was rust free fortunately. The Mustang was in very good original condition when purchased and I drove it home, I have done most of the mechanicals and put it all together my self, I also have the original owners manual and is a matching numbers car. But most of all, I love driving it. Spanish Gold shares the same paint code as Black Hills Gold used in January 1968 for the Color of the Month Mustang promotion. The Color of the Month promotion offered a special ordered color and sport options for each of the first 4 months of 1968. Black Hills Gold was offered in January for the New Years; Passionate Pink in February for Valentines day; Emerald Green in March for Saint Patrick's Day, and Eastertime Coral for April. The door tag on Mal's Mustang reads: 65B hardtop body style, blank special order color, 6U parchment bucket seats, 23B scheduled for assembly on the 23rd of February, 1968, 71 ordered in the Los Angeles area, under special order 0781, 2 2.79:1 rear axle ratio, and W automatic transmission.
