The first Brown Mustang was introduced the first year of Mustang production in 1964 as a brownish golden shade of bronze called Prairie Bronze. Another brown was introduced in 1967 as Burnt Amber. There were a few Brown featured Mustang special models. These were either exclusively brown or came in special brown paint.


Bronze 1967 Shelby Mustang

Bronze was only available in 1967 as a standard Mustang Shelby GT350 or GT500 color. Bronze was one of 6 colors offered on 1967 Shelby Mustangs and one of the 3 unique colors, the other 1967 Shelby only colors were Dark Blue and Medium Gray.



Copper Brown 1973 Mustang

Well, Medium Copper was not a special order color in 1973 or on any special model Mustangs, but it is one good looking color. We've included Medium Copper brown in this special list because it looks awesome.


The only special model Brown Mustang we are researching is the Ford Color WT3322 or Ditzler 23019 Brown Poly. used as one of the many colors in the 1968-1969 Rainbow of Colors West coast promotional Mustangs. We think the color might have been named Spanish Gold since other car colors of the time called Spanish Gold were dark gold or brown.
